Tag As FavoriteComment		This is my most labor-intensive Photoshop piece yet - I'm sure I've spent at least 20 hours on it so far, and I'm bound to go back and tweak things out eventually. There are 86 layers over the original pencil sketch. Yes. 86. I am crazy.

So this is my elven self, Nath'alia, and her giant pet tiger, Tahbaht, just waking up from a nap and feeling rather fiesty. Tahbaht is supposed to be that large - she's big enough to carry a rider (or two, if they're small enough) - but first you have to catch her. And there's no guarantee that she'll let you stay on, either. ^-^ Tahbaht is too independent for such a thing; occasionally, Nath'alia will ride her, but she's more likely to shift into a tiger herself or just go on foot. (Yes, she can shapechange. Oooh.)

If you're going to criticize, please be nice about it. I've never spent this long on one item of artwork, and I'd rather not have it picked apart piece by piece. Suggestions are always welcome, however. [Completed June 18th, 2003]

[Revisited again on July 29th, 2003 - upped the contrast in various places and put a larger version up since Elfwood changed its size limit.]

This is a lovely piece. It has nice composition and the characters have interest and personality. The tiger is lovely and clearly a fantasy piece, but if you in future pictures want to him him more like earth tigers, I wouls add a great deal of white. Tigers have white on their faces and chests (though you wouldn't think that would be very camoflaguey) and I would give him bigger ears. But has he's your tiger, he's lovely just the way he is 2 The girl is lovely too and so cute how she mimics his pose.

:-) Natalie Paquette replies: "Thank you. 2 I looked at a number of tiger pictures to get an idea of how the fur was colored, and how it lay across the frame of the body, and was surprised at the varying levels of white/orange/black, depending on the cat. Tahbaht could probably use a little more white, though ... I was afraid to give her a lot while I was painting. ^-^ I'm a very timid artist. lol"

I'm a big Cat lover and I love what you have done with your tiger. It seems as if it could come alive any moment. I also think you did a good job with the elf. I love her hair color. I don't know many people who would choose that shade of red but it is beatiful.

I love everything about this drawing! The tiger is incredible! It's very big and looks very cuddley! The background is awesome! The detail is amazing! I love the elf's dress! The little pearl things are very cool! The elf is very beautiful1 She looks a lot like yourself! That's the point right? Of course! The pillow looks very soft. Excellent Job! Keep it up!

Aww i really love this picture! You can really see their connection and as someone else said, i love the way she... or you... mimmic his pose 2 I also adore the pretty earrings and the beads on her top. I love the clothing too! Oh now i'm just rambling so i will just say i love it and be done with it! Good job, keep it up! Well worth the effort put in 2

Oh i also love her hair colour and the tiger does look very cuddly ^_^

I like it! ^_^ the girl needs some work don on the skin tone me thinks. Other wise good job. Wish i could draw like that.

The only thing i have to say is that she has very light skin not that it looks bad or anything just that all of my carictors have darker more tanned skin
