I don't often use this technique anymore, as I'm more comfortable with airbrushing now on Photoshop - but occasionally I still go back to it. THanks for commenting!!"

Really like the deep red of her dress too. Natalie Paquette replies: " Thanks. It's funny, how some peices grow on you or just.. catch your attention randomly, even if you've seen it before. ^-^ "

| 28 Jun 2003 | Umeko Anoush Mahala | Loading...OOO! did you use the pencil as a top layer and set it to 'multiply' in the blending options and then color underneath it on a different layer? Thats wot I do Natalie Paquette replies: "Nope - never heard of that technique before, but it sounds like fun. I do the tedious thing of selecting with the lasso tool everything I want to be a certain color, then alter the color that way. ^-^" | |

| 17 Nov 2003 | Emerson Ward | Loading...Hi Natalie, i like it. It's worthy of critisism, but i won't piss you off too much. I was thinking the eyes need a little more defining, and black pupils with little white reflection dots, to create an attention focus for the face. the lips would also beenfit from a rich colour. the background is good and you'll learn perspective as you practice it, so don't worry too much. Though when you select certain areas (like the doors) to colourise, try a feathering of a couple of pixels on the selection tool before you do it (this will avoid the sharp line). Another thing i like to do is called colour correction (I love this) go image / adjust / curves and look for the three eyedroppers (black grey and white) pick the black one and then click on a part of your image you want to be black and do the same with white on white. This will improve contrast where you want it without changing the rest of the image. Have fun! Natalie Paquette replies: "Well, thank you for all of your thought-out words. I will keep your suggestion about feathering in mind (although I rarely use this technique anymore), and I never knew about color correction before! .. however, I very highly doubt I will go back and make any adjustments to this piece - little time and very little interest, as it's rather old. ^-^" | |
| 6 Feb 2004 | Rowan | Loading...I love the picture, though it is not one of my favorites of your immense collection. I love the writing even more, perhaps. ;-) Natalie Paquette replies: " Thank you. I love writing little vignettes - so much less demanding than full-blown stories." | |

His eye glows slightly brighter with her passing and then mutes its harsh concentration to avoid blemishing her delicate skin. With a whisper he blesses her travels, for even he is not exempt from her powers to capture the heart." Need I say more? Amazing. Love the vignette as well. Natalie Paquette replies: "Thank you for that - it was beautiful. "
