Mwa ha ha ha - color pencils! Anyway... so I decided I wanted to have another go at that whole... art nouveau thing, like I did awhile ago, and this time I took advantage of the copy, flip, and paste tool in Photoshop so I could get some nice symmetry goin' on.

My mother used to say about my sister and I that we were 'as different as night and day', but in reality we really do have a great deal in common. I guess I just wanted to illustrate that in this piece - sister elves with the same face, only with different color hair & eyes. Despite the difference, they're exactly the same. ^-^ Or something. It's 1:30 in the morning and I'm not making much sense. ... Oh, and my scanner ate the nifty coloring job I did. ^-^ Ah well.

loving the design and symmetry, shading may add a lot to the pic cuz it looks very 2D rite now. very nice!

:-) Natalie Paquette replies: "Yes, it is a rather simplistic style of coloring - this was back before I really had any practice with color pencils. I may do another version of this some day, who knows. ^-^ I like the design, but it could do with a different coloring technique."

Great concept! I like the way their hair is flowing2

:-) Natalie Paquette replies: "Thanks. 12 I love hair - especially long, flowing hair, so that tends to come out in my artwork a lot."

This is very nice, the way their hair wraps around the frame works very well. This would go well on a T-shirt.

:-) Natalie Paquette replies: "Thank you. .. perhaps if I did a better scan of it, it would go nicely on a t-shirt."

It strikes me as being a test in the powers of Diana and Hecate (left and right respectively). Or maybe a Fall & Winter dynamic. Either way, being one of those neo-pagans and all, I LOVE IT! Forget t-shirts, this would look good as one of those stickers for the rear window of my Mercury. If you ever touch it up (and can make such stickers from the print) I'll be more than happy to buy! *wink wink, nudge nudge* I'll take a t-shirt too, but ONLY if you allow me the honor of buying it from you! Might as well donate in some way, n'est pa? *winks*

:-) Natalie Paquette replies: "Hmm.. Diana, the moon goddess, and Hecate, the witch? (Y'know, the funny thing about Artemis, whom Diana was based on, is that she wasn't even a moon goddess... they called her the mistress of the animals). Anyway - I wish I could find some website or company that could print my work on see-through stickers to put them on cars. That would rock. My car would be covered with my own crap. ^-^ lol I'll let you know if I ever find anyone to do it. 12"

Very cool, gotta love the curls of hair! A very striking piece.

:-) Natalie Paquette replies: "Thank you. 2 I love drawing hair. "

I like this one and the star sisters one for different reasons. The color in this one is fabulous. I always thought if I didn't have red hair (okay strawberry blond, but it was redder when I was a kid) I wanted to have black hair. The shading in the middle is superb

:-) Natalie Paquette replies: "Thank you. 2 .. at least you weren't born with ashen blonde / mousy brown hair. 8 I've been dying mine either red or black since I was 13. ^-^"
