My favorite things nihon are 3'6" gauge multiple unit passinger trains, although i also really like shinto temple gardens and fox kami's and kistuni's, and yes, ok, anime and manga, at least what i've seen of it, which isn't very much of most of what seems to be popular now.
and i do like McCaffry's writing. though in fairness she is but one among many many many writers of speculative fiction i also like a great deal (at least one for almost every letter of the alphabet and several for many of them).
decision at doona she wrote i think before the pern series and crystal singer i do believe after most of it or at least what i know of the main dragon rider series though for all i know she may still be writting the spinoff dragon singer series.
i stopped buying new paperbacks when they started costing more then a buck twentyfive a peice. but do occasionaly haunt the second hand paperback places.
mostly i miss seeing analog on the shelves in grocery stores, fortunately my local library still subscribes to it.
