Dalessi is the highest dragon, who has just jumped off the ledge. Her brother D'nyao is the long-eared dragon flying on his back. This is a scene from my story (which I will one day upload to Wyvern's library) in which Dalessi is running away from her oppressive queen mother to find her father, and D'nyao is tagging along, as much from boredom as to be escape possible termination for being male. (That part is explained in further detail in the story.)
done in charcoal. I got a little bored with the mountains by the time I got to the close-up one, and I'm not really all that great at drawing rocks anyway. But it's a start. :)

This is awesome. I love the shading but I'll have to admit, the first time I saw this picture I thought it was a bunch of rocks with a mask carved into it. Anyway, I can't believe nobody's commented on this. It's a nice piece, pretty original. Keep it up.

I personaly love the background! I think the shading is awesome, and you did a far better job on the rocks than I can ever dream of doing! I also really love their wings. The lower dragon (D'nayo?) seems to be in a strange position, and it is a bit hard to make out.
But overall, this is nice! Again, great on the shading!

You're ver good with wings (and shading for that matter). I like Dalessi more than D'nayo however because I can't exactly see what kind of position D'nayo's in. The background needs, like you said, a bit more work. It's kind of hard to tell what's going on, and maybe color will help.

The shading is really very good, the rocks and the dragons, especially their wings, came out wonderfully!
