"Mermaid II" by O. J. Davis

	This mermaid was inspired by the first. It was originally meant to be the same mermaid in a different pose, but, as I have said before, I CANNOT draw the same thing twice. I don't know why. anyways, tell me which one's the best.

21 Sep 2004	Megan Skye Hale	Loading... Don't worry about it, I can't draw characters more than once either, except for one, and she's sort of my personal mascot. I especially like the floating necklace, it gives a sense of motion and under-watery-ness. yup...I just actually said that without embarrasment. O. J. Davis replies: "The necklace idea came from my first mermaid picture which had a floating bracelet on her arm. That one'll be up in a week or two; I just submitted it to the queue."
21 Sep 2004	Miranda Aschenbrenner	Loading... Orlando, I really like this. The pose is beautiful, there is so much movement in the hair, and the expression on her face is perfect. The "unfinished" bottom left corner works really well too. My only suggestion (and it could apply to all your work) would be to darken the shadows to create more contrast. Some black in the deepest shadows would give your work a little more... punch? As for which mermaid is better, I'm not sure what other one you're referring to, but I really like this one! See you at bifrost! O. J. Davis replies: "Yeeeaaah...this picture was actually a lot darker, originally. I've gotten a little sloppy in my scanning methods, I guess, and been letting them go on auto-scan. And then I dont usually do much to the picture unless it needs some quality control. goes and fixes pictures"
