SciFi and Fantasy Art Goat Boy! -- Expressions by K. Fletcher

You ever heard the expression, 'That really gets my goat'? Well, I said that to a friend of mine in an e-mail about the punctuation in his story, and then it got around to the goat biting him and he kicking the goat, and silliness like that. I said something along the lines of 'I should draw a goat so I can attach him to e-mails when I have a beef with your punctuation!' and thus was born the idea of Goat Boy. Well, I'd had the idea before, but this gave me something more solid to start on. So one day I was having some artist's block and I decided to play around and make this Goat Boy. Thinking that he should be a rather animated character (and noticing that I tend to not put any emotion into my character's expressions) I drew several expressions of him on the same sheet. That's what this is. He reminds me a little of me, if I were a goat boy, that is ^_^ Quite spasmodic in his emotions. But yeah, drawn with pencil; moved some of the heads around, darkened it, and tweaked a couple of the heads in Photoshop.

Surprised/Alert: Straight up and pointed forward Sad: drooping downward Excited/Happy/Neutral: Pointed forward at least, and if not, held standard at the side Mischevious: Pointed backwards Angry: Pointed backwards, side closest to head flattened against head Confused: Pointed forward, but one cocked to the side, and the other possibly drooping in the middle K. Fletcher replies: "Heh, thanks! I'll have to try some of those out next time. But I'm not sure I've ever seen a goat with its ears sticking straight up... ^_^ Perhaps I'll have to make me a Cat Boy, or Dog Boy to try those out on too!"

XD Don't neglect these-- they're a big help with expression practice!.... well, yeah DUH Quel, but it's true! ^_^ lol Everyone DOES love goat boy! I bet he packs a mean kick. :x K. Fletcher replies: "Ya know, they really do help! Well, this is the only one I've ever done... But it's good practice! I've read where you mention using an animal's ears (He's not really a "furry", is he now...) to help convey emotion, but could you really do anything like that with his big floppy goat ears? Ha, well at least FOUR people like him, if I include myself. He only uses that kick when someone has REALLY bad grammer. Otherwise, he just bites you ^_^ Thanks for the comment!"

Fletcher replies: "Aw yes, my own personal Goat Boy to bite people with poor grammer! Bwa ha! Expression sheets really are pretty good practice, or just drawing something repetitively in different ways. I'm thinking I need to do more Goat Boy pictures. He's soooo cute!...Yummy...But his eyes aren't goat-ish...You should give him goat eyes...You know...They are like...Sideways...Any ways...I love him...I love goats...Hmmmm....Good job K. Fletcher replies: "Happy to hear you think he's cute! Well actually, goats have rectangular pupils. But I rather like him with normal ones. I think his unusual eye color can be his goat part, and his pupils can be his boy part ^_^ That works out, doesn't it? Thanks for the comment!"

I am very interested partly because he is interesting partly because he has a Rockin' Goat-ee K. Fletcher replies: "Yep, you can call me Fletch ^_^ Sadly no, I haven't really written anything about dear Goat Boy. He's just kind of a joke I whip out every now and then.
