Related to the alps and mares, shadow alps have telepathic powers which they use quite cautious. though the huge winged creatures look like beasts at first sight, they are known to be calm and decent people who avoid violence whenever possible. that might be one of the reasons why the witchhunters were able to decimate them so much.
shadow alps don't like to be confused with gargoyles, because to them, gargoyles are uncultured and have way too many horns.
