I drew a pencil version of this when I was fourteen or so (a good age to like mermaids) and thought a remake would be fun.

1 this is so beautiful! her expression is perfect and i love the details of the pearls, i just looked at this one on high-resolution and WOW 17 incredibly rendered. 2 gorgeous - did you do this directly onto Photoshop or was it a pencil sketch first?

:-) Anita Schmidt Pabst replies: "thanks! 1 I made a lineart first, I always do. then I broke my wrist to paint it over in photoshop, for I haven’t got a real graphics tablet and do all colorings with my mouse. was one of the first pictures I made that way and it took ages. luckily, I’m much faster now. ,)"
