	This gryphie's markings are loosely based on the Sharp-shinned Hawk. The arms are unfinished though, and I can't think of how I should complete them. Suggestions?

16 Aug 2002	Dianne C. Cuddy	Loading... (I love the shading on/around the eye- that's why I suggest it as the focal point, but you'll have to extend the upper left portion of the pic to get the neck/chest into the cirsle- necessary to capture the posture.)

Here's a wacky idea- (hate to suggest it, because it means cutting out some of the wing detail, but at least you won't have to finish the arms! ;P) Why don't you try a perfect circle around his head, with the eye at the absolute center, and give it some celtic knotwork? There are all sorts of tutorials on how to do the knotwork, and drawing the circel is simple enough. Maybe you could give it a try? I think you could capture the feline/birdlike posture perfectly, and it will be a unique new thing for you to try, since you said you've never done borders before... Cynthia Fong replies: "Hmm... I don't really change my old pics too much after awhile unless I really think it needs finishing, but that is a good idea that I might try on a new picture."
29 Nov 2002	Teph	Loading... Ooh! I like this. In the way of crits, maybe you could try flattening out the area around the gryphs chin (behind the beak to the neck) and see how that looks
