||The unicorn sighed happily as he spotted the large lake: he had been travelling all day and was hot, tired and thirsty. It was now dusk and he could rest before he began his long journey to to the faraway mountains. He stepped forward, switching his long tail to warn off some pesky flies. As he reached down to the cool water there was a large splash; he was showered with water-droplets, and he shook his head in surprise. He stared at what had made the splash: a horse-like head had emerged from the depths of the lake and was watching him curiously from large dark eyes. It's coat was strangely scaled, and it's mane made from water-weed. Tentatively, the unicorn reached out and touched his muzzle to that of this strange new creature, who let out an appreciative whickering sound, before vanishing underwater once more, leaving nothing but delicate ripples on the surface. This is my first 'proper' accrylic picture, and I'm not yet very good. I decided to go for a sketchy feel for this picture as it seemed pointless to try for realism when I knew I wouldn't get it. I have a soft spot for Hippocampus and, as does every horse-lover, for unicorns.|
