She is the protector and watcher of the forest... I was studying a relgion in my old religions class because we had to do a presentation on any religion well I found one that was pretty much peganism but had some different beliefs but the basic morals were the same like harm none. However they were big on worshiping trees and believed that if you did wrong in this life eg. Murder you couldn't come back instead your soul would be cast into a tree and there you would live an eturnal slumber until the god deemed you acceptable to come back unto the human world.... well this was what came to mind during the project.

The position is nice, the middle a VERY SLIGHT bit awkward, but no sweat. This position is really difficult to portray and you basically nailed it. The way you tied the woman into the tree...excellent. I love the vines [briars?] coming up the tree. This would be great if you coloured it. A

Very good drawing. I love the idea, and your pencil sketching tecnique is really good and suits the picture.

:-) Amanda . Shantz replies: "Thank you. When I do darker stuff I tend to use the mechanical pencil a lot. I find it gives off a cool rough look."
