If people knew the real legend behind dragons they wouldn't draw them being killed. And they'd know also that it would take more than just a spear, sword, or an arrow to pierce the armor plated scales that cover the body of a dragon. Trying to stop a Dragon with any of those weapons would be like trying to stop a tank with a handgun. And he won't be doing anything once inside the dragon.
