'Greg 93_6 : amazon costum study'. Graphite pen and black ink (Rotring 0.2mm). This is only a costum study. I added the head only two years ago, and as I couldn't draw a face that pleased me, I've hidden it behind a mask. Of course it's less sexy than a pretty face, but... maybe it's more pleasant than a boby without head ! I was of course inspired by Luis Royo's work for this woman. Look at 'Daynos Web pages' ('Homepage' link on my Elfwood index page), 'artistes', then 'Luis Royo' to see the one I'm thinking about. You'll easily guess which one is !! Things to fix : hum, I prefer close my eyes when I watch it...

okay, i want to state that i am Greek, and that the amazons are part of my religions past mythology, so i will help some confused people out here. the amazons were seductive, valiant, and sneeky and sly. they wore skimpy clothes and such as depicted in the picture, it was a way to lead men into traps, because men were no good to them except to produce more women. anyways Gregory did i think an exceptional job at depicting the way an amazon women looked, and it may be a bit offense to those girls out there, but some people seem to not understand that the human body is not always something to be grossed about when u see the slightest hint of nudity. it is a form of art, and the amazons knew this but also knew it was a seductive weapon for men. K? hope this clears anything up. also women back then really didnt have any support, i am pretty sure the wonder bra hadnt been invented yet, so they Had to do with what they had. 2

Ok look! I am so sick of people wondering weither the right chest was cut off or not! Come on use your senses how many women would cut it off!!! Although i know all you perverted guys out there would love the chance to think of that possibilty. I know that amazons are very warlike and brave and so on but it would be just as easy to bind it or use a breast plate which is what they did!!!! Also from the angle of the face and the mask and hair at first glance it appears to be a guy. And i am also saying this in tribute to elle becuse of temorary banding for ummmm...Rudeness

I just have the feeling you are speaking seriously about what amazons were. Leave them alone. They are just mythology. Even if some existed, it would have been in the terrible form of a bear-haired girl the size of a Godzilla and arms longer than her legs. I could give you proof, if you just e-mail me.

So anyway. The picture is great, of course. The mask does not lower it's sexy outlook, however there is something that seems wrong about her right hand (the one that holds her head). It seems kind of too short. I know that it is pointing directly to me and thus the shoulder-elbow part of the arm cannot be shown, but can't you re-make it in an angle, so that "feeling of wrongness" be banished?

Nice!! I especially love the detail on this pic. Great sword she has there. Better be careful, though. One of my brothers nearly cut a few of his toes off with his katana the other day. Had to get five stitches. *gags*

Great pics. Nope Amazon's didn't cut off their breasts, they only bound them flat so it wouldn't get in the way of their bows. They had children so they needed both breasts for feeding, a baby would strave if the mother only had one breast. Trust me, serious research bears this fruit. They allowed the rumor to continue because they figured if men thought they were crazy and fearless enuf to cut off their own breasts they were crazy enough to do anything.

OH WOW!!!! I lover her! OH WOW!
8 Oct 200445 Hey
Interesting discussion about amazons. I've never known much about them, but they seem interesting... Anyway, on to the picture... She seems a bit too masculine if you ask me... At first I thought it was a guy... So maybe if she didn't have so broad shoulders, she'd look more feminine? And I think the mask makes her look more masculine too, but you already explained why you drew it, so never mind... Other than that, great picture
