Well, have you _seen_ some of the weird lures that are out there?
My grandfather was a fisherman and took me out on a couple of trips and I remember laughing myself silly when I saw some of them.

I bet she's considering fastening a boot or a can on the hooks. ^_^

1024x768 version can be looked at HERE.

Mediums: Mechanical pencil sketch, colored in Photoshop.

Nice tail!Tell her to stick an angry robotic crab on the hook.. it'll be funny.. *laughs evily* Mwahahahahahahaha!

:-) Annika Freyah Nilsen replies: "Thanks! I would but yo know how it's like with electronics and water. On bad insulating job and we got a fried fishcreature on the beach rotting. Better to just put an old boot on the hook, or would that count as chemical warfare?"

:-) Annika Freyah Nilsen replies: "LOL! Whoops, sorry about that, I'll draw a really ugly meramaid next that can chase this one away from your desktop. ^_~"

You know I like your art. I've commented many times on your works.
Oh, how I admire your coloring techniques and these patterns you do.. 2
You once again did great. 1
But something bothers me about this picture :/ you see.. something about the front section of the mermaid's body is wrong.
The part that is below the mermaid's left arm I assume is her chest... but it seems a bit lower than it should be, plus it looks as if the chest is being tightly continued by other flesh. SO.. I'm not sure what I'm looking at and how does the front body go.. :/ is it her chest or torso? or belly? is she pregnant!?! O_O
I'm confused.. you'll have to forgive me :|

2 Annika Freyah Nilsen replies: "Hmm, I think I know what you mean... the section of he body I guess you're talking about is suposed to be her chest. I sort of imagine her looking up using her neck instead of curving her whole body, still... it might be a bit low. But hey I'll use the same excuse I always do, it's fantasy, maybe her species is just built that way? ^_~ "

I like it! its so pretty! and I love her big booty and thighs! er if those are considered thighs...upper...tail? lol anyways its all really pretty and very well drawn an colored! ^-^ *gives cookies*

1 Annika Freyah Nilsen replies: "Hahaha, I tend to draw big behinds on mermaids, somehow I imagine they gotten bigger muscles there from all the swimming.
Woah, suddenly got a flashback from the schools gym teacher yelling "Gluteus maximus is the largest muscle in the body, it will cushon you if you fall!" when she forced us to to advanced gymnastics, lol.
Anyways, I'm glad you like the picture, thanks for commenting! *eats cookies* Yum..."

Wow, this really glows! i must get a tutorial for Photoshop off you.........^-^ Love it. The contrst is astounding and the little dash of a different colour aded by the crab is inspired. Well done ^_~

:-) Annika Freyah Nilsen replies: "Hmm, I have actually started a few over the years but as scar´tterbrained as I am I always forget about them and they get lost in a reformat.
