She is one of the Kitaku, an ancient people that have almost been wiped out and are forced to live in secrecy. Few people have seen them and most of them were too far from civilization to tell the world. Here, Namori, the leader of their tribe is leading them into battle.

Done with my new prismacolor pencils ^__^ and then cleaned up in photoshop a little bit. I was mostly experimenting on shading and I think it turned out better than I expected! Some of the details got lost when I put it up (it was too big) especially on the face -- sorry about that. Comments are always appreciated!

I like this one. i love the ammount of red in this picture. Red is a nice colour. It really comes out well with the blue background. Nice job!

Very nice job. I do think that it needs a lot more shading. You should try looking at photographs of people and figure out where the skin seems to get darker and what shape the shadow is, then try to shade your drawings that same way. I have found that that works for me, anyway. But the concept is good, and a really like the red wings. Nobody ever does red wings. *pouts*

36 L. ´Frog´ Janas replies: "  Yay! Red wings! In the original the shading shows up better, but it is there! Shading was actually one of the things I was working on in this picture, so I will try to do even more next time. Thanks for the comment!"

Your blending is supreme! Those red edges... (dreamy sigh) Beautiful. The blending in the sky is equally smooth. And of course, it's up to par with your other drawings as far as creativity.

36 L. ´Frog´ Janas replies: "  Prismacolors ROCK for shading *blush* but I can't take credit for the background - that was done on my computer in Adobe...... Heehee, thanks for the comment!"

I like the bright red--it's very strong. Though, the proportions are a bit off it's still a good pose. The sky could use some clouds, though as it is it's not bad because the focus is on the figure, not the bg. All in all, nice drawing. ^_^

36 L. ´Frog´ Janas replies: "  I'm sad the proportions are off - I was trying to work on them in this. About the clouds: I originally had them in the picture, but if you look at the angle that you are looking, it is lower in the sky than the clouds normally are. I'm glad you like it ^__^"

WOW! Defs one of your best colored yet. I must say, very nicely done, old chap. Erm, ya, so keep it up!

36 L. ´Frog´ Janas replies: "  Heeheehee thanks ^__^ Yay Prismacolors!"

I love the shading in the wings. I can't really say tha tthte proportions are off, because perhaps that is exactly the way these creatures look. However, if you were trying to go for more human proportions, then some helpful things to do next time (cause I doubt you're going to be fixing THIS drawing) is to make the neck a bit thinner and perhaps a bit longer. The turn of the head is really cool, but the ear, I think, is too far back and thus the jawline is too long also.

I like her anntenea. 2 Also, you could try putting more shape (muscles) into her extremities.... I like her torso, good job with that. And those wicked looking nails. egh! I would want to be in a cat fight against those!

Overall, though, nice drawing!!

36 L. ´Frog´ Janas replies: "  Thank you so so much for the long and helpful critique! The world could use more of those. Just about the neck - I made it sort of thick and in my opinion more masculine just because the females of this species are not so... feminine. But yes, some of the other proportions need work. Thank You again ^__^"

I saw this on the thumbnail and was curious, 'cause it wasn't like a conventional 'fairy'. Then I clicked the thumbnail, read the description, and loved it =) Her expression is really quite fitting, which I think is awesome; also, I love the colour lol!!!! I especially like the wing corners =)
