Well, Rene goaded me into taking a stab at the DiTerlizzi D&D contest. Never played the game, myself - but I figured I could give a dryad a shot, just as she's emerging from her tree. I wanted to avoid the stereotypical buxom-babe with convenient patches of ivy - besides, she has leaf-ears! I like leaf-ears! Ink on Strathmore 60 lb paper, colored in Corel Photopaint (Photoshop? Bah! Who needs it?)

7 Dec 2000	Lisa Ann (Jae) Andresen	Loading... this is lovely. I appreciate your use of yellow in the color scheme; somehow, you managed to make it look not so over-the-top cheery, as usually happens with yellow. It evokes, instead, a feeling of wildness. Almost believable.

I fell deeply in love with fantasy ever since I saw Peter Jackson's version of Lord of the Rings, and this pic captures the true spirit of fantasy! To be honest, I've always had MEGA trouble drawing the female form, but you've really nailed it. Keep it up, please!! LOL. PS: Never mind what the "Crusading Gnome" says or thinks. Anyone who's negative about a masterpiece like this clearly knows nothing about art.
