Well, Rene goaded me into taking a stab at the DiTerlizzi D&D contest. Never played the game, myself - but I figured I could give a dryad a shot, just as she's emerging from her tree. I wanted to avoid the stereotypical buxom-babe with convenient patches of ivy - besides, she has leaf-ears! I like leaf-ears! Ink on Strathmore 60 lb paper, colored in Corel Photopaint (Photoshop? Bah! Who needs it?)

this is lovely. I appreciate your use of yellow in the color scheme; somehow, you managed to make it look not so over-the-top cheery, as usually happens with yellow. It evokes, instead, a feeling of wildness. Almost believable.

this is really beautiful, I love how you see faeries and nature spirits!

Nice pic, simple and pleasant. but hey...

a dryad, and a title like "Eat Your Veggies"? (*gulp!*) (struggles madly to pull brain out of gutter) ..I gotta go take a cold shower!

............................ That is no dryad. Dryads should look more humanoid, Elven particularly. Stop smoking crack, and read the books before you get any more "ideas".

Awesome.

Err...No photoshop? No adobe? No life.

That is awesome.

She looks very cool! I particularly like the leaf-ears! Very cool idea.

(Ignore the 'Crusading Gnome'... the whole point of D&D and fantasy in general is imagination.)

Your title is a little odd. But i love this picture

All I can say is: WHOA. You are a magician, my friend! I fell deeply in love with fantasy ever since I saw Peter Jackson's version of Lord of the Rings, and this pic captures the true spirit of fantasy! To be honest, I've always had MEGA trouble drawing the female form, but you've really nailed it. Keep it up, please!! LOL.

PS: Never mind what the "Crusading Gnome" says or thinks. Anyone who's negative about a masterpiece like this clearly knows nothing about art.

Dryads are my favourite mythological critter. I like your take on them. I note that someone mentioned how she resembles her tree (willow?)I like that very much.
