I love this elf. She is one of my favorites! My only problem is her left hand. I can't do hands very well, as you can see. Any suggestions?

Any attempts i make of drawing hands is PATHETIC but then again, my real hands are a bit strange! Writers lump, big knuckles, chewed nails etc. (thats really gross! sorry!)

I agree that hands are really hard to draw, what I do is draw off of my own hands, or get my big sister to model for me. ^_^; It does help, however, I can't say I'm that experienced in drawing because I'm only 13 and have been only seriously drawing since this past January. Not very long huh. Oh well, i'll shut up now. I do like your drawing though!!!!! very very much. Keep up the good work!

I love this! I'm a fantasy writer...or at least I want to be *wrinkles her nose* and this one reminds me of one of my main characters, Anien (even though she's s'pose to be a pixie not an elf ;->12. You can always so that her hand was deformed by a battle. Any ways wonderful work, keep it up!

Look at your own hands...OR, search for "hand tutorial" on lycos, altavista or dmoz.com...Those are all my resources, and very helpful, too.

Their are a few things wrong w/ this pic. everyone hates criticism, hell i do too, but i am doing this to help you! you have an awsome style and proportion shouldn't ruin it! the head is way too big. a suggestion for hands is to make everything long, thin, and pointy (no nasty thoughts!). this makes the hands look more gracefull.

One thing that I find helps out a lot when I draw hands, is figuring out how they are porportioned with the face. The average hand, if you put the botton of yourpalm even with your chin, will be only about an inch shorter than your hairline, with your middle finger at the middle of your forehead. try it. I try and remember that when Im drawing hands, especially hands that come out too small (and they often do!)

Its just the proportions that you got wrong - look at your own hand in comparison to you face - you'll find that they are nearly as big as it. Apart form thats its really good.

Really great. You say you need helpwith hands? 'K. The palm of the hand should fit exactly into the space between the bottom ofthechin and the tip of the nose. The middle finger should then fit from the tip of the nose to just above the eyebrows, the index and ring fingers to just on the eyebrows, the pinky to where an open eye's eyelashes would be, and the thumb should start just above the chin and end around the top of the cheekbone. Don't ask me how I know this, because you wanted help and I just gave it to you. So there. XP Luv the pic, though the arms are a tad thin...

My favorite part of the picture is the fairies, or sprites, or whatever you wish to call those butterfly-looking things.
