UPDATE 11/10/07: Based on a suggestion from one of the commenters, I've fixed her mouth and face a little bit.

Alright, first of all, if you haven't read through Part VI of my story Trench Coats and Love Notes, I absolutely FORBID you to read below this paragraph, or to look at the picture itself. Are we clear? This is like, the ULTIMATE spoiler.  I probably shouldn't even post it on here, but there are enough Trench Coats fans who've read all the way through, that I thought I'd share. :P I guess if you have no intention of reading Trench Coats you can look at this, but seriously you should read it. I'm very proud of that story -- a great deal of blood, sweat, and tears have gone into it. It's about secret agents and all sorts of cool stuff -- winged horses, psychics, unbreakable glass slippers...the list goes on. So go read it! It's fun! Fun fun fun!

Ok.  For the rest of you who have read through part VI (which is still my favorite part, closely followed by Part VIII [the masquerade], and part XI, which has yet to be published), this is my rendition of the Mnemosyne PMWARD in all its sparkly majesty.  Cardboard Hut is looking one final time at her friends before...*sniff*...well, you know.

Hut sank to about midway in the tank and then floated there.  She chanced a look at her friends through the glass and smiled at them.  They could not smile back.  She looked too much like a shipwrecked ghost, floating in the water all in white with her hair waving like a tangle of seaweed.

            “Initiate Memory Extraction,” Tinkerbell said.

“Initiating,” Wratchet replied, pressing a button, “Memory Extraction underway.”

Another bolt struck the water in the tank and Hut closed her eyes as a thousand tiny gold lights floated away from her.  They cycloned around her person, casting beautiful and haunting shadows on the walls.

            “Memory Extraction complete,” Wratchet reported.

Wow. This poignant moment is only described in a few sentences. I've got to rework that, methinks. Though I guess the moment in the story described there isn't what this picture depicts. Hut's not smiling -- she's looking back at them for the final time before they initiate the TF. And she knows what's coming. I wouldn't be able to smile either.

Too many sparklies? I kinna like it like this. Without the smaller sparklies it looked like it was missing something. And anyway, Hut's got a lot of memories to record/erase. The tank would be chock full of them.

My internet connection is iffy so I'm just going to comment on the picture. I think I have a new favorite from your gallery. I don't see anything wrong with this and I like the position of the girl in the tank, and the folds in her clothes. Her expression to me sort of looks like she feels betrayed.

:-) Glo 'the Bug' Bowden replies: "The thing is, she kind of has been betrayed. Not in the outright sense, but in a way that was behind the scenes. Basically her world spun out of control from a single, confidence shattering incident, only to bring her here. All the memories and people she's held dear are about to be taken from her forever. The thing I think is so ironic, is there are some definitely bad agents at The Agency; Hut is a really good agent. Not only that, but she's a prodigy with mechanics. How she ended up in the memory wiping machine, though she's obviously good, competent, and has The Agency's best interests at heart, is a complete mystery. I suppose the law's the law; justice really stamped out mercy on this one."

Ooooooooo!!! I didst not know that thou hast put this on here yet! You probably told me, but my blonde mind sometimes lets things..."Slip!" Anyhoo, I just love this! It is so well depicted! Her expression shows every emotion that she is feeling: sorrow, pain, hurt, hope, love for her friends, etc. And the lighting is amazing! Wow! It's just how I imagined it! *sniff* *sniff* *chin tremble*

:-) Glo 'the Bug' Bowden replies: "Nah, I didn't tell you I'd posted. But you can safely assume that I always do. ^_^ And I've fixed this pic based on an earlier constructive crit. It doesn't make a huge difference, but it makes just enough difference, I think. --unfortunately I'm not sure I like it fixed. --Hut's lips look more Kiera Knightleyesque in the newer version."

That scene was so heart-breaking! I still get choked up just thinking about it. *cry*

This pic is so haunting and beautiful. The scene is other-worldly, but with the background of the story and knowing that all those glowing orbs represent Hut's memories makes this extremely poignant. I absolutely love the sea-green of the suspension fluid and the way Hut is free-floating amongst the lights. It all fits the scene perfectly!

Hut's expression has so many dimensions, just as I would imagine from someone who is thinking that everything she holds dear is being taken away. I can't even comprehend the torment that being "wiped" would create, especially with wanting to hold each memory close for just a moment more, but not having the time. *wails* You very successfully conveyed the many layers of pain, grief, regret, etc. in her sad face.

Kudos on a pic that is amazing in so many ways!

:-) Glo 'the Bug' Bowden replies: "I think I've said it before, but I think memory wiping, especially the way Mnemosyne does it, is worse than death! The fact that they can reprogram her is just...creepy. I mean, I know that when they first joined The Agency, Hut and all the other agents agreed to be able to be wiped if it came to that. --That they knew full well the risks involved. But, well -- what irony. I bet Hut never in a million years thought she's be wiped in her own memory wiping machine.

And on top of losing everything, and the grief she must feel, she's about to get struck over and over again with magic, memory wiping lightning. 10 I think I'm more emo than I think I am; that's painful stuff! "

Why on Earth is this lady encased in Jello considered to be worth censoring with that blue dealy?

10 Glo 'the Bug' Bowden replies: "I have the sneaking suspicion that you don't read descriptions. Ha ha. -- I did it so that people wouldn't accidentally see it, since, you know, I FORBADE anyone from looking at it until they've read to part VI in Trench Coats.

ANd if I really think about it, someone drowning in jello isn't exactly G rated...PG fit better, don't you think?"
19 Nov 2007:-) Madison "Callisto" VanDenBerghe
*cries* This is so heartwrenching! And yet, so touching. 10 (as if that makes any sense) I really love the colours in this one. I could totally visualize the PMWARD when I read it, and this just adds one more dimension to your story. *shudders* I can't imagine what it feels like.

On a happier note, you like my new smiley? 1 I've been trying to decide what I wanted to do for ages, and then I had a stroke of inspiration. Why not do my favourite Avatar character? (and, incidentally, the character that inspired... well... me!) *winks* You know what I'm talking about... *shifty eyes*

:-) Glo 'the Bug' Bowden replies: "Hut: It doesn't feel good, my friend. I'll tell you that much. 10

I LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! Ok, it's official. You have to go click on my fan art tab, then click on my profile tab, which will take you to my fanart profile so you can see my little Avatar-state Aang smiley. 1"

Awwww. This picture makes me want to cry because I know that the next expression on her face after this will be one of excruciating pain. *sob*

However, this is remarkable Glo! I emulate John's remark by saying that I can find no faults with it!

2 Glo 'the Bug' Bowden replies: "Tis a rather depressing scene, yeah? I have a twisted imagination sometimes. I've actually wanted to draw the Trauma Factor in action, but that might come out really disturbing. O_o

Thank you! I worked hard on this'un. I've been wanting to capture more scenes of Trench Coats, but I've been putting so much time into writing the thing lately that I haven't had time to actually *draw*. "

That’s okay. Your loyal TCLN fan club shall endeavor to pick up that duty for a while. *wink wink nudge nudge*

*whispers* New TCLN pic is underway... Tee hee!

K: *considers breaking the glass, then realises there won’t be much point, as the story has already progressed beyond here*
E: You are brilliant with expressions Glo. I mean, amazing. fantastic...etc etc.
K: *clenches her fists and turns away* Never, ever let them take your mind...
E: Oh dear...bad memories....

:-) Glo 'the Bug' Bowden replies: "Happened to you too, eh?

For the record, even if you had been there, the tank was made of reinforced diamond glass, the only 100% shatter proof, break-proof substance in the world. "
6 Jun 2008:-) Kerri Jurgens
*sniff* its just too sad. i wanna cry, even though i’ve read further and know what happens. GET HER OUT OF THERE!!!!! *thumps fists and kicks uselessly at diamond glass*

:-) Glo 'the Bug' Bowden replies: "It’s kind of crazy how much more she has to go through... and this was supposed to be one of the main climaxes of the book! "

I love that shiny effect, And the face is beautiful.,,
