I can't believe that I have finally met someone with the same name as mine even if they are half-way across the globe.
the portraits are wonderful. They look nice in pencil

:-) Maren 'Stargazer' Gebhardt replies: "  Now that is fun! You're now the third person who found me over Elfwood and has a part of my name with me in common. And thank you very much for commenting on my portrays."

Please draw poor Maeglin. They burnt him and cut his hair at Angband and no-one remembers 'cept that he gave in under torture.[does it strike you as a little odd that his father had eyes and skin too weak for bright sunlight - mentioned only as pale - and possessed a semi-sentient black starmetal blade??]Maeglin? Hm,yes I might...I do remember him fairly well from the Silmarillion.I like the 'troubled' types. And his father Eol, he has forged the black sword Anglachel, yes.*g*The similarities are striking, though striking even more in the story of Túrin Turambar and what happens to him and the sword...

Yes, after it had killed his dearest friend, too...
The black sword had a twin.[Anguriel] Poor Maeglin, his cousin never loved him although he sold his soul to a major demon and betrayed his home city to ensure her safety...It had a twin?! *takes out Silmarillion again and looks part up*Yes- how could I *not* remember.Yes, it gets more and more closer, the more you think about that.Hmm, I must be careful that I am not going to confuse the character, when I try to draw him...Though that will take a little while, I fear- there are other pictures that need to be finished first.Again, lots of thanks for your many and kind comments!

Well you have great drawings but have you tried adding backgrounds i really think it will bring your pics to life! Thanks much for commenting!Yes, I know! I am currently teaching myself how to draw backgrounds. It's just not that easy for me, because I have no depth perception and a background should add some depth to the picture. But I am trying.*g*

Very awesome! I knowticed a comment or so on one of your works, the one for Marius. Something about NOSFTU.com? Have you been there? Just curious.

Your artwork is vey nice. (Other wise why would I be commenting?)I like the one called Anubis, very well drawen.

MonetteThank you ever so much! Yes, I've been visiting nosftu.com. I think it is one of the most beautiful websites dedicated to the Vampires of Anne Rice out there on the net.I liked especially the part of Marius (how predictable...*g*).

Please please please please pleease...[does stubborn kitten thing, big eyes, constant mewling] You wont't get confused, the White Wolf never watched his parents die. Mau.Aww...*fights urge to pick up little black and white cat and carefully ruffle its wings* Well, I have definitely not forgotten about it. And I can promise you that Maeglin was just declared my next project! Now I have just to decide if I'll rather do a portray or some fullbody drawing...

Your drawings look a *lot* like mine did just a couple of years ago. We definitely like drawing the same things! Sexy men with long faces and pointy chins particularly 12 You're the first person I've come across (other than me) to have attempted Ammut, though mine's not posted. Keep at it! Your gallery has a lot of life and character.

And Maren is such a pretty name 2 (just had to get that in.. it's my favourite female name ever)Many thanks for your nice comment! Oh, you've drawn Ammut, too? I'd like to see! 2And also thanks for liking my name- though this thanks should be passed on by me to my parents. 12
