This started off as another little crap sketch... I debated making this indefinately-aged female I was drawing an elf (you can still see the ear lines, for the love of God) and decided against it. It was when she developed joints at her back behind her shoulders that I realized that maybe, just maybe, the long, depressing dry spell I've been trying so hard to endure might be over. And then hated myself for not trying in the beginning. So this explains her lacking facial anatomy. The wing joints are my favorite part of this piece. Basically as I worked on it I decided to give her dark skin (yeah, that more or less went out the window, as far as looking at it, but I rarely shade, so for me, this is dark) on a caucasian frame (as if I can draw anything else), then thought that perhaps the reason we picture angels with halos is because their hair is so bright... that they put off light...
Overall it took about six hours, lots of 7B pencil on the starry background... I realize I should define her background more, she's indoors in a large hallway (polished stone of some sort) with an open exit and unrailed balcony... but I'm surprised I even did a background, I was satisfied with the figure. There was absolutely no touch-up once it was scanned; the scanner ate what little shading I did on the hair (keep in mind, I wanted it to be more or less luminous) but the cloth sort of shows up at least, considering it's my first attempt at cloth that looked like cloth (no model to work from).
Pencil, completed overnight (as is most of my better work) 6/1/04.

she looks ugly and disproportionate somehow her forehead is too big and the line of her chin to horizontal her face looks flat and the nose sticks out loads, meh i don’t like it.

:-) Aimee Genevieve Etier replies: "I believe what we’re seeing here is the remains of the common troll, perhaps one of the English strains (although one cannot be sure from such sparse evidence.) Long has Elfwood groaned at their presence, but as it’s such desirable territory I doubt the infestation will end soon. Pity."
