A clear indication I'm reading far too much shoujo manga. I had quite a lot of trouble getting Hitomi's face right. It doesn't matter what Van looks like because his head is at a funny angle :) Btw, this was a gift for Lyn, specifically regarding her fanfic 'A Return to Gaea', which is IMHO one of the best fanfics out there (but the URL of which I can't remember :P). They're both 5 years older in the story.

Aug 2003: I finally found the link XD (below). Be warned, the ending is very... Escaflowne. You'll know what I mean if you've seen the whole series.

I just love the angle of his face and the look in his eyes. If only the story had REALLY ended that way. Gin May replies: "Yes, let's petition them to do a sequel, or maybe change the ending like what happened with Evangelion. ^_^; You know, considering this fact, I find it astounding that there are so few quality Escaflowne fanfics around. Most of what's out there is pure crap. Lyn's fic is probably the only one I could stand to read to the end. "
