This is really cool. Makes me ponder where I sit on the food chain. The swirly background adds a certain evil to it as well. Yoni Danziger
replies: "It depends on how you look at it MT. Personally I think you’re sitting right between the land and the sky eating peanuts, and watching a game of Fairy Cricket in a hot summer day!
Thank you for your comment MT, and thanks for noticing the swirly background! Even though it looks kinda sloppy work, I put a lot of thought in to it

Critiques? It looks kind of dark-- as in not enough light. Still it’s hard to critisize something with well done and elaborate, the scratching adds a lot of detail. Great work with MaXine. It’s always fun to work with and get ideas from fellow artists. Yoni Danziger
replies: "Yes it is John Maxine’s story is great, you should read it if you haven’t yet!
Thank you for the comment man! I know it’s kinda dark... I tried to create an abstracted Hellish atmosphere, maybe I exaggerated a little bit. Anyway, I appreciate your kind words Thanks!"

Sloppy? It’s downright distorted! Yoni Danziger
replies: "lol You’re back!
I thought it looked a bit sloppy because usually I do many more lines... but it’s cool you don’t think so!"

cool! I love the way you did this! Yoni Danziger

no thanks, I’m not hungry - ´Love at First Bite´
Well yes i think he needs to get stronger, perhaps get a little more muscle on his body. He could benefit from more muscle.
I think, you’ve placed a lot of time and effort into them, great work Yoni. Have a nice day and to work up an appetite! Yoni Danziger
replies: "Lol Love at First Bite is a good one
I guess you’re right Marie, about the more muscles, but that is the problem, it was my first try of painting a male with my Scratching technique, and I don’t quite get the shadows structure in the muscles of a male body.
Thank you very much Marie!
|24 Aug 2009|| Katalin Szabolcsi|I’m bad at anatomy, so I won’t criticize your male body drawing And other’s wrote about it yet. : )
Maybe the background could be a bit different. I mean the minotaur is reddish, the background is that too, but in the background you used brighter red, it brings that closer.
I like his hands and the head, they are visible, and detailed.
I learned once that these are the most important parts on some artworks, because they have a symbolical meaning. The head is the thought, the will, the hands are the action, the deed. Yoni Danziger
replies: "The background was made that way in order to emphasize the flames of Hell’s Kitchen. (It’s a story written by Maxine that I would dearly recommend. The link is in the introduction)
I’ve read about those things you said in an anatomy book I read 10 years ago, I remember it was more or less the same.
Thank you very much for your lovely comment Katalin!

I thought it was a great picture!
I dont even now how you use scartching technique!!!
Good work! Yoni Danziger
replies: "In my profile I give a full description of my Scratching technique in case you want to know more about it.
Thanks a lot Shannon! "

Well I dont think the arm looks desturbingly messed up. Its that you pointed it out in the first place that I saw it. Do you have that too that when you finish something you just see all those irritating flaws you made? I have that... and then others dont even see it lol! I must say this one fits the story very well! well done Yoni Danziger
replies: "Well most artists have that problem. Personally I have that problem only when I’m painting something that is new to me like in this piece, I’ve never tried to do a muscular man’s body before or a bull’s head. But to tell you the truth, especially after reading all the comments I’m feeling much better and more confident about myself and my skills, even though I know that the road to perfection is still far ahead
Thanks a lot Sky!!
