This is a new Series (2009) called ‘The Wizard’s…’ and this is the second piece ‘The Wizards Library’ which contains (of course) the wizards spell books, necklaces, Charms and basically all the stuff that he needs in order to cast a long term spell.

Scratching Technique (fountain pen,ink & carving tools)

I like the perspective on this one, as well as the muted colors--very appropriate for the subject matter.

Like the light in this . And the chains. Nice to keep the overly lively books in their place.

Excellent shading. I like the more earthy colours. They give it a sort of ’hidden away underground’ feel you might associate with a wizards’ lab.

:-) Yoni Danziger replies: "Thanks a bunch MT!"

Oh I LOVE the composition! The technique is so appropriate for this subject. I can almost feel the scratch, scratch of the tools on the books bindings. This drawing resembles a wood cut.
I like the story potential here:
I AM the wizard in this picture, I am very tall, and I always buy paperback versions of spell books. I also dust more frequently than most wizards.

:-) Yoni Danziger replies: "Lol 1 1 1 you sure got me there Melody!

Let me tell ya a secret, I’ve made this series while I observed my own library (I’ve got quite a collection of fantasy books, accessories, potions, rings, icons and stuff) and I do prefer the soft covered books, I’m quite tall and I am keeping everything clean (except for my working space…of course!) so basically you won this battle 14

Thanks a lot for your lovely comment, I’m really glad that you’ve found interest in this piece! 12

The rough texturing gives it a nice look. Almost like an old engraving. The scratch technique really works good with the books, giving the illusion of lots of pages.
The drawing looks old, in a good way. It has that quirky Medieval look. The angle of the drawing is a good idea too.

:-) Yoni Danziger replies: "I’m glad that you think so John and I couldn’t hope for a better comment than this one. Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it! 12"

:-) Yoni Danziger replies: "Thank you thank you 1 I’m glad you loved it!"

I didn’t write a comment to this picture, but I like it.
I like books, I have a lot of books (I always needed a really big bookshelf, once I will have one, I hope) And I usually hang up my medals (from minerals mainly) amulets, on nails around my bed.
This picture give me a familiar feeling with the theme and the nice warm colours. : )

:-) Yoni Danziger replies: "OH ye, I’m a book warm as well 1 all three pieces of The Wizard’s... series are different angels of my own library. I’m really glad you’ve found it so interesting, thanks a lot Katalin for your comment! 12"

Great perspective and it adds such a wonderful layer to something so ordinary as a shelf of books. The scratching detail adds to the age of the items. The warm colours make me want to curl up withone of those books...which may not be a good idea if they belong to an evil wizard...

:-) Yoni Danziger replies: "Hey!! I’m not an evil wizard!! Lol 14 This entire series was made under the reference of my own library 1 I’m really glad you’ve found interest in the angel and the books (I LOVE BOOKS 18).
Thanks a bunch Patricia!!
