This is the first of a series of fantasy personality portraits of my Fiancee`, Jennifer. While visiting my fiancee` back in March, I couldn't help but notice how at home she is with animals and how much they love her. Being that she is mostly Irish, this reminded me of a druid and so I had to draw a picture of her as such. Words could never describe how beautiful she is, but maybe a picture might. Done in Prismacolors and Gallery watercolor pencils on Academie 8.5x11 sketch paper.

BTW the shadows and texturing in this are amazing.

:-) Matthew W Gonzales replies: "The secret is to not be afraid of contrast, and to use complimentary colours in the shadows as opposed to black."

Wow, the natural shape of the body, the fabric, and how it hangs about her, OMG the staff, and the owl. Everything in this picture is just incredible. You definitely have a talent there.

14 Matthew W Gonzales replies: "hey, it's a swift! Oh well, thank you though."

Again, the colouring is so good!! Dunno why this isn't a modschoice either -_-

:-) Matthew W Gonzales replies: "I know why. It's borderline. because there is no obvious element of fantasy in the picture, but it is stated in the description, this piece is considered to be borderline in genre. A borderline image can never be a mod's highlight. Now if she had elf ears, or if there was a faerie in the picture, it might have been different, but I prefer it this way. This way people just come along and say their honest opinions as opposed to a 15 minutes of insincere, fangirlish fame, lol."

Absolutely beautiful, her dress and staff are a work of art! You details and coloring are very good as well and your fiancee is pretty 1

1 Matthew W Gonzales replies: "Yay, more confidence boosting *knocks Jenn in ribs and points at screen* "Told you so!" (she only listens to other girls, she never believes me, lol. But in the end, I think it's nice to have a girlfriend who doesn't think she's beautiful, that way when you really convince her, it makes her really happy, she's never conceited, and always wowed whenever I just have to lavish her with gifts, lol)"

Oh! She is gorgeous! The little criticism is about her arm holding (that amazing and artistically done) staff. Her dress is very well designed, love the hair very much - its one of the hardest things and you made it so beautiful!

:-) Matthew W Gonzales replies: "Actually I love doing hair. It's quite simple really, lol"

:-) Matthew W Gonzales replies: "Thanks, I'll have to pay you a visit sometime."
