'Do not think to fly, little one, for I have you caught just as they have caught me.' A Victorian elven lady and her pet, done in Painter. The costume is referenced from an 1890 fashion plate, modified a bit for modern sensibilities.

Nice picture, especially the bold, dark and vibrant colours. I feel this would benefit more by being in Lothlorien though 10
You have great skill with folds, and the bird looks very nice, although i do think her face is a bit 'off' in some way. I think it might be the angle of the face that doesn't look quite right. Nevertheless, a lovely piece. Keep up the good work 12

Her abdomen seems really, really flat. The rest of it looks good though.

*Thumbs up*

:-) Grace Dawn Palmer replies: "She's supposed to be very heavily corsetted, thus the very thin waist and the apparently flat abdomen. People are strange shapes in that much whalebone."

What caught me is her necklace... there seemse to be so much symbolism in it.
The pearls are white, the color of innocence, and the crosses add to that feel. However, the stones fall down her neck so that they appear to be blood. Stained innocence. As though she had been caught pure and unsullied, and her time with her captors warped her in a way worse than death.
Enough of my ramblings. Kudos, and great execution.

I rather like her sallowness and sombreness, that seems very Victorian to me somehow. One problem I see, however, is that her bust (chest and shoulders/neck) seems flat, there isn't much shadowing to define the contours.
