Don't go and kill yourself, that's for sure!!

(to Grace) This is a fabulous work of art! I'm not surprised it received a mods choice! Good work! ~Remember, no matter what anyone else believes or says, in the end you are the one who chooses what path to travel down. No one else can make that choice for you.~ ~Believe what you choose to believe.~ ~Believe in yourself.~

| 28 Sep 2006 | Drowning Lilly | Loading...I LOVE IT!!!! LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT !!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!
I think this picture got a mods choice on the sheer grace it seems to hold. It seems like such a simple picture, witch is very sheek(that's a good thing), even though you probably spent quite a while on it. The shading is impeccable, as well as the shape of the girl herself. Her hands are amazing, the toning is just perfect, and it is a painting. A PAINTING!!! That ups the astonishing level all on its own. You have wonderful talent and I have enjoyed looking at your painting very much.
If that is Sonya's personal opinion, then she is welcome to make it, as long as it is one hundred percent truly what she feels. But I think that there may be another reason behind why she was putting you down, like maybe Sonya was having a terrible day, or Sonya just got an urge of jealousy, I know I am envious of you painting skills.
I'm not sure about Sonya, but I always do my best to look at things with an objective and fair viewpoint. And I don't try to sugar, or pepper coat things. Your detail is refreshing to see. Thank you for reading this comment, and for being an artist on Elfwood. I really appreciate seeing such fantastic artwork at the beginning of the day.
| 15 Jan 2007 | Jennifer Anne Krull | Loading...I love the monochromatic style - I think it would be spoiled with other colors. The subtle shading on the face is beautiful, and what fine detail on the hands! I have never learned to paint well, as there are no "do-overs". This is beautiful.
As for Sonya...wow. What a piece of work she is. Hasn't she shown the type of person she is? She's probably one of those horrid people who make other people's lives so miserable that they aren't even worth the space they take up on earth. I hate to be equally nasty, but if she took her own advice the world would be a better place for it.
Your painting is gorgeous.
| 19 Apr 2007 | Dragon Child | Loading...I think this painting is absolutely great! The monochromatic color scheme is very calming and she does indeed look very peaceful. The folds in her robe are also very well done.
Oh, and Sonya Zhang, chill out! Not to belittle something that I'm sure is a great honor for some people, but mod's choice is *just* a little gold star- that's it! It's not like you actually get something of value, so don't go telling people to kill themselves if their art isn't up to *your* standards.
| 16 Aug 2007 | Flara | Loading...I LOVE THIS PIC!!! Though this picture is not in great detail you have managed to make it beautiful! I think you are a wonderful artist and you should definitely keep it up!! Good work!:] | |
| 5 Dec 2007 | Deborah Flyinghorse Sutherlin | Loading...Dear Grace, this is a wonderful first painting. Ignore the vile words of the jealous. If this is your first painting, you have made an astounding beginning! Artists improve and learn with each painting they do.
Light travels faster than sound. That is why some people appear bright, until they open their mouths and speak... *wink* I'm anxious to see more Grace! ~Deborah
