Death of an Angel

It falls from the sky, faster and faster.

Hurtling towards earth. It hits the ground as light as a feather.

I run towards it.

I see a sword covered in black blood lying astray,

And a man with feathered wings.

I gasp. It can’t be, can it?

I thought angels were mythical beings.

I see silver liquid oozing out of his strong chest.

He looks at me and whispers

“I’m…” and the rest is caught by the wind, not to be heard again.

His eyes role to the back of his head and he is still.

He is dead.
