This image has always struck me as being particularly clever for one of my works. Done in marker( I'll post the original as well), on a whim, and in my mind it might be one of my favourite pictures of Crotalus, wandering the Lands of the Cruth Steppes. It is not suggestive of His true power- I enjoy depicting Crotalus as a wanderer- and yet to me suggests a force older than man, that same feeling one gets when seeing a cutty bird or snake, a glimmer in the eye, that says things long forgotten to us.

No comments!? Are you all insane? My gosh! This picture is wonderful!!! I love how you manipulated his posture to look like that of a man's. The cloak is awesome, the mood of the picture is wonderful, and that's a very nifty snake. Wonderful job!

Well well well. My freind, you amaze me. Not even the Celtic Gods could of done better! Aye, back in me ol' days, me an the boys would draw art like that. But not before a cup o' whisky, eh?*chuckle chuckle*

Very nice, dude. I've always admired your deft hand with a common marker. This piece shows the kind of naturalism and energy you can achieve with such raw economy.

The mood is very nice here... kind of reminds me of that video you wanted to make, waaay back at NSCAD. Crotalus wandering in the wilds. Of course, this pic says "Nova Scotia" to me too... 2

:-) Gregory P. Gibbons replies: "T'was fun to do as well. I gotta post some more of my recent images of Hisser, though."

I'm glad you posted the original as well, but I like the darkness in this. It brings out the mood of being outdoors alone with a cloudy sky more. I know that sounds like a visual description, but for me it is a mood, and a very powerful one.

:-) Gregory P. Gibbons replies: "I thought we'd both get something more out of this image, if done this way. It feels ominous, like maritime weather in general!"

This is a great image. First, the face captures you. "Ooh, different than an old crone" you think! And you look at the cloaks--"Definitely a weird old crone." But then you see the tail, and it HITS YOU! 1 The greyscale makes it somewhat creepy, too! Well done!

Best Hisser I've seen you produce, Greg (although most I've viewed were at 2:00 in the morning on the whiteboard the day before a deadline...). Beautiful technique (almost the flavor of rotoscope).

This image certainly evokes an unseen power, fluid almost. You certainly captured what you saught to. My complements.
