You are a very good writer, and you have some awesome ideas. Very well done. My page is right over there <-- so if ya have some time, drop by and take a look. Thanks. Steve (Greybird) Reed replies: "Thank you, Tate, for being the first to comment, and for having such a response. I've felt immersed in the youthful passions all around Elfwood, and I wondered if this 40something guy would ever have any readers! ... I look forward to taking a read from your own shelf soon."

I'm friends with the guy who has the page "right over there <-- (a.k.a. Tate James)" but I'll have my own page soon, hopefully So, I'll tell you once I comment again. Steve (Greybird) Reed replies: "I always wanted to be really "cool" ... thank you! The continuing "Folly" story is slowly coalescing. Please do stop back by early 2004 to look for more."
| 5 Nov 2003 | Jennifer Miller (Nambroth) | Loading...*grins* I like your train of thought. Here's to a fellow winged-lover. Wonderful writings here! Steve (Greybird) Reed replies: "Thank you, Jennifer! (First comment from a Lothlorien artist, woohoo!) I'm glad you checked them out. Do go take a look at her flock of gryphons, folks, and the girl in her adept and witty "On Feathered Wings."" | |

Wish I would have awakening like that one morning It’s hard to decide which one is better, your writing style or story itself. That style would make stories readable even if they were a lot worse than they are! I hope I’ll remember to visit later so I can read next chapter ... Steve (Greybird) Reed replies: "Thanks for commenting on my style! I’d like to have enough plot upon which to apply it properly in additional chapters ... and that’s what has taken a while to realize. ’Real’ life impinges on what’s important, doesn’t it? {grin}"
| 8 Dec 2003 | Stephanie Lee Turner | Loading...ooo ... these stories are great. I'd have to agree with 'bill', one of my top 10 now. Steve (Greybird) Reed replies: "A real pleasure to hear that. Do come back in the new year for some more!" | |
| 12 Apr 2004 | Windrider wannabe | Loading...I think your work is powerfully written and extremely creative. I really like your characters, although a deeper glimpse into sue/windrider would make it even easier to get lost in your stories. I am looking forward to reading more!! Steve (Greybird) Reed replies: "I hope to oblige you soon! Plot work is thickening, and I know it's been a while. Thank you for the reminder about thoughts from the female point of view. I had planned doing this later, but will now bring in Windrider's inner life much sooner." | |
| 28 May 2004 | Dawn Star Wood | Loading...Hi there Steve ... I just wanted to thank you for stopping by and commenting in my gallery. I'm glad that you enjoyed your visit there. I am in the process of making a couple more pieces that were requested from various people but now that I know what you appreciate, I'll see if I can add some more of that in there as well. I also found it surprising that there was a comics character that has the same name as I do ... never knew that ... Steve (Greybird) Reed replies: "And she's a lovely winged creation. I hope to have many Dawnstar depictions, art and words, on line soon. Come back and try the Dawnstar link above. Thanks, milady, and I hope to see more wings in your own talented works." | |
| 30 May 2004 | Stephanie Stone | Loading...Hey! Thanks so much for the comments on my page for the winged critters! I appreciate the time you took to look thru the gallery! Steve (Greybird) Reed replies: "My pleasure! Do especially see her witty ’Red Winged Rabbit,’ folks." | |
| 12 Dec 2004 | Melissa Findley | Loading...I just took both your tours, and thought they were wonderful. A few too many "angels" and not enough folks with other kinds of wings, but otherwise, very nice tours. However, my main reason for commenting is, there is a book I thought you might like, "The Book of Flying," by Keith Miller. It’s set in a strange fantasy world, and is the story of a librarian (the last librarian) who falls in love with a girl with wings, and his quest to gain his own wings so they can be together. I highly recommend it. Steve (Greybird) Reed replies: "Thanks very much! (First public comment on the tours.) If you are seeing feathered wings at the scapulae as being ’angelic,’ yes, indeed, they predominate. I hope more of other kinds - such as the butterfly pinions in your own lovely ’Gossamer’ - come along in Elfwood art. I want to use them.
I had heard of Miller’s tale, but your comment spurred me to check on it at Amazon.com. I ordered it and am reading it with pleasure. The last book-length winged-folk tale I found was David Sosnowski’s ’Rapture,’ and that was published eight years ago ... far too long!"
| 30 May 2007 | Christy Miller | Loading...Just leaving a note for all the Elfwood Writers!
The Keys to becoming a successful author! Take care of them. - you must always remember this when you are writing. Sight, sound, taste, smell and feeling! They are simple, but many times, if you miss one of these, the book or story just isn’t what it could be! Don’t be afraid to describe in depth of what you see. Your readers don’t know your world. If you want to show them exactly what you are creating, you need to be specific!
