Ugh... I hate designing textiles; but I LOVE making character reference sheets. I erased little tech notes on her costume colour scheme, but if you can't read the test still on the piece it begins with "Cardcaptor Kairi!" pointing to the full sketch since I was reminded strongly of CCS when I finished it. The one next to her "Grr" face reads "First they leave me with dirty dishes... Now THIS?!" which is a joke reference to her official concept art. The pouty face just reads "Why so blue, panda bear?" because I love that commercial; the crazy smile is a quote from Riku in this AU story, "There's a little bit of darkness in everyone's heart... You're no exception." The happy picture is just tagged with a "Happy/nostalgic" label, and at the bottom of the page are just some quick notes pertaining specifically to Kairi of this AU story:

-Ranged fighter
-Prefers magic in combat
-Teammates: Selphie and Fuujin (that's to be explained further down the line... like in the next piece I post)
-Seeking friends Sora and Riku
-Favours Oathkeeper
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Right then; this is the Kairi of an AU (well, maybe AU isn't the best term in this case... whatever) that two of my friends and myself are working on, phase 1 (the equivalent of the original Kingdom Hearts) is titled "Divergence," phase 2 is "Severed Chains," and phase 3 is "Retribution;" the project as a whole will fall under the blanket name of Kingdom Hearts: Divergence. It's a highly ambitious project that has yet to work out all of the kinks, but we're making impressive headway with the outlines and storyboarding for it.

The story starts out the same as it does in the first game, but a few seemingly minor events in the very beginning will completely change the outcome of the original KH storyline... in fact, those minor incidents will restructure the whole storyline. If you're interested, we've got a hosting for it at SmackJeeves.

Anyway:

- I don't care how much you hate Kairi and wish she would die, I don't want to hear about it. If you feel the need to tell someone, go share your sentiments with a fellow Kairi-basher.

- I am aware that Kairi is NOT a keyblade master in canon; this is AU.

- I am aware that she does not keep Oathkeeper in canon, again, this is AU and the events leading up to the point where she gives Sora the keychain do not occur in this storyline.

- I am also aware that Kairi is a rather underdeveloped character in the games, and as such she is fair game for some tweaking... seeing as we never get to see a lot of her personality. Some of the personality she'll be taking on in this project is inspired by these cute official Concept sketches: http://kh2.co.uk/?kh2=Artwork
