Hmm.. I feel, there is so much detail lost in resizing, I had to post a closeup of her face. I'm not happy about the eyes, I really could do better, but then, now it's done and it's so hard to fix lineart that you already colored.

Done on Nov 28th, 2004, from scratch in the Gimp in about 5 hours.

I think her eyes are lovely!!! And her whole face, for that matter. My fav thing about this picture is her hair...it's so, hmm, flowy. And shiny...OooOOooo. Very pretty! 1

Anyways, great job. Rock on!

:-) Sabine B. Fischer replies: "I'm actually not so sure about her hair myself, it has a rather fin-like quality, or like a sheet of silk flowing from her head and mmh, it didn't turn out as I wanted it to, but... then.. I am never so sure how I want things to turn out. 1"

it's a very pretty picture
you might consider using one consistant lightsource for the next one you try as this has one lightsource for the eyes (upper left) one for the hair (in front) and one for the shoulders (from behind, or is it upper left AND upper right?) it's quite confusing. For things to POP you should consistantly use lightsources so it ends up all consistant and then it'll really look 3d

also, the hair looks fin-like because it's all shaded as a continuous unit. Try shading it in chunks and strands for a more hair-like effect. FARP has a great tutorial on that I believe

Also, it inspired me in my stage makeup class.. So far, the only project I've done that I was satisfied with..
