With this guy I decided that I wouldn't do my usual battered, cracked and filthy suit of armour that looks like it's been looted from 12 different people. Instead it's meant to look like a well kept, polished full suit of matching armour... you'll never know how much it pained me not to dirty it all up and stick damage all over it... and maybe a couple of skulls lurking around. Maybe I'll come back and do a version of him after a year of getting battered around and adorned with loot... but maybe not. Done on A3 paper with an F pencil and HB mechanical.

Yeah he's quite the pretty boy compared to your other armour-wearing dudes.... he needs to be put through a couple skirmishes so that he doesn't look like such a sissy!

But the armour is very cool, and it does look neat and well-kept. I like his axe, it looks so sharp!

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Sideshow Freak: Sissy?!? Ooooh, you're making him mad, and when he's mad he does a bit of ironing... oh, I see what you mean. Damn."

Hi There, I think this picture is amazing it really is, but i just point out a little fault with it, the head looks slightly too small for the body, i don't know if its because the suit of armour is supposed to make his body look a lot bigger (and thus out of proportion) but to me it just seems a bit weird. - Excuse my ranting there!

I have to say though i really like the idea of not putting to much detail into the armour, it makes this piece stand out from the rest because it doesn't look too cluttered! Keep up the good work mate its fantastic! Oh and by the way how do you do such detailed drawings with a mechanical pencil? i can never get clear enough marks with them!

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Bottle o' Rum: I know what you mean, I tried to make him look like he had broad shoulders but might have overdone it a bit. Looks a bit like he's stuck a coathanger down his back... ooh, the joys of it. And thanks, the non cluttered approach was what I was after... not sure I'll be doing that a lot though, I do like a good bit o' detail! And the mechanical pencil thing, dunno it's the only pencil I've got of late. Cheers for the comment Annie!"

Damn! you do some realy intricate armor designs and once again that shading of yours kicks ass!

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Puss Filled Boil: Cheers Lloyd! Tried to get away from little details with this one. Was going for a not so cluttered look so you could actually see what's going on. Cheers again pal!"

What the !F***! is an F(***) pencil!?

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Bunny-Burner: It's a pencil... with an F on it... or is it a deviant sexual device? hmmmm... I'm pretty sure it's a pencil but that would explain this strange rash..."

That's a nifty back scratcher he's got there! He'd better watch it or he might have his armour stolen it looks so pretty and new! Umm... he looks like he has no bottoms on apart from his codpiece! Trust me to notice something like that! Definitely some crazy details you have in there, even without all of the distressing! Very nice!

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Peanut Butter: Yep, he often goes out to battle in just his cod-peice, perfect for scaring his enemies... he must even have had his bikini line waxed, no spiders legs hanging out the sides... What a mincer! Cheers Syd!!"

One thing I really love about your gallery is that you've got such a perfect style when it comes to portraits. Err--what I mean is, your realistic but dramatic shading style is perfect for capturing the essence of characters and personalities. I can't really explain it, but I just think its awesome how even though your style doesn't change from picture to picture, the emotion does. It's like it chameleons to match the character. Okay, am I making sense? No. I'll shut up.

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from Bertie Basset: You're making perfect sense... I think... the pics all look the same, but different. Like a bag of Liquorice Allsorts almost... hands of the big pink round one! Cheers Jenny!"

I'm sure you could find some work at Games Workshop pretty easily.

Very unusual,(for you) yet fantastic piece of art.

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Plaugebearer: Cheers JP! Strange you should say that, a couple of years ago I sent off a few pictures to GW but they turned their noses up at them... it's fair enough, the pictures I sent were quite rubbish looking back on them now. I might send 'em some more sometime in the next year or so but I think they're more interested in 40K style art at the minute... Cheers again Jean!"

You really should put up a "battered" version of this guy! He'd look very cool! ^_^

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Square-eyes: I thought about it... then couldn't be bothered... it's not my fault, it's the bloody TV! So much quality programming.... "
