This is my little tribrute to Boromir's death in Lord of the Rings. Don't get me wrong, this isn't meant to be Boromir, in fact it was based on me, it's just that the way Boromir kept getting peppered with arrows and yet still leapt to his feet to carry on slaying must surely go down as one of the most heroic deaths ever... and I just thought I'd do my own version! A doomed man, desperately still fighting on despite the many fatal wounds he's recieved... Need a bit of 'O Fortuna' playing in the background for this one really. Done on A3 with a HB mechanical pencil.

WoW Andy!!!! You did an awesome job on this one. The line technique is absolutely wonderful. Your shading is just as good. It is amazing how much motion you captured with this one. I hope one of theses days I amas good as you. Please keep them coming!!!!!

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Fork in the Eye: Thank ya kindly Valerie! here ya go *tops up your drink with cabbage water* "

well again this is really great, his face is a little strange (dont really know what it is but their is something odd there) one great tribute to Boromir (yes i cried a little when he died in the book, so sad) ^-^

oh i found a large piece of fungi on my way here and thought of you *lobs the piece of fungi at Andy, enjoy*

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from Barrymore: Thanks a lot *sticks Fungi in armpit with the rest of the collection* that'll be safe in there... Funny looking face? How dare you, that was based on a cross-breed of me and a wilderbeast... oh, I see what you mean... Cheers Rhiannon. "

Kind of like a crazy-ass Saint Sebastian, wouldn't you say? You and your guys with collections of arrows! But really, this is great! You've definitely captured the heroic self-sacrifice that would be associated with such an act.

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Rubbish Hat: If I knew who Saint Sebastian was I'm sure I'd agree... but my ignorance knows no bounds unfortunately. Who's he then? The Patron Saint of getting shot? Anyhoo, Cheers Sydney!"

So, this is how you picture your death... scary that I planned something similar to myself 0.o

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Evil Genius: I also planned something similar for your death but have had to cancel cos the snipers all went on strike cos I wouldn't give them egg sandwiches... bloody trade unions!"
4 Aug 2005:-) James 'Jimbo Fett ' Inwood
Wasssa!!! He looks just so darn good only he looks a little bit like your bio picture.

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Rubber Chicken: Twas indeed based on a combination of myself and a ferret... And they claim genetic engineering's a bad idea! Fools..."

Yeah... Great piece! You look like the kind of artist who would draw yourself as the hero and poke five arrows while still fighting. It has your hair, mouth, and everything. I would love to see your bio pic with five arrows sticking at you. 1

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Rich and Spicy Table Sauce: Cheers Vince! I'll head down to the local archery range this weekend and see if I can get shot 5 times... well worth it for the snazzy photograth! Get ready with the plasters and bandages mate!"

Well, the first part of APEX was finally moderated so you can go and read it.

By the way,you didn't have ot cut my hand off. I thought we were friends. FRIENDS! It hurts, you know...

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Tin of Spam: *Chops off JP's Feet* That'll teach ya!! I'll be over to give it a good read when I've finished here. Cheers bud."

This is really good. Brings a tear to my eye when I think of Boromir trying to save Merry and Pippin!!

Excellent use of pencil, the details are fantastic. Must have taken ages. The action stance is brilliant!! Very accurate and he really looks as if he just wants to carry on fighting forever!

Excellent picture!

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Goosefat: Thanks a lot Nat! "

Andy Guest, hows it going? nice to see you spilling the blood.

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Triple Buttocked Freak: Everyone needs a hobby... spilling blood's as good as any... Cheers mate."

His left arm seams heavy in the upper arm but too thin in the fore arm. Plus it seams to me that the upper arm view point may be off a bit, though I can offer no suggestion for improvement. How did you get such a good handle on anatomy?

:-) Andy Guest replies: "Comment from the Septic Eye: Cheers T! Any relation to Mr T? I hope so... Anyhoo, the anatomy eh? It was a self portrait, I was stood looking like a freak waving a broomstick around in front of a camera phone... so the anatomy was based around that. "
