"Angel in Rope" by Gunilla Riddare

This is a commission work. I almost never do that since it is extremely hard to get the picture 'right' (like the person that orders the drawing wants it). But this was different.
An American woman emailed me and asked if I wanted to do a drawing for her. She described her vision about an Angel wrapped in rope. This image had been in her head since she was a little girl. She didn't want the angel to be vulgar in any way.
Instantly the angel popped up in my head – the image was crystal clear. I loved the idea and made this for her. The woman told me later that this was exactly as she had vision it. Of course I don't know if that is true, but it felt right and I like the drawing.

I actually used me as a model…! I wrapped myself in a big white gown and tied a rope around me. But well… yes I altered it a bit. It is not my face… ;)
