"Fire-Angel Dude" by Alena Crepea

This is a Fire Angel. There are also Water Angels, Wind Angels, and Earth Angels. They're like elementals...but not. They are lesser angels, born of humans, who have been gifted with the control of a single element. They are ferocious warriors, despite the fact that they are considered only somewhat more than humans with wings. They have a lifespan of up to 4,000 years. This angel is only about 600 years old, himself. He's had time to somewhat master his powers, fighting for his life as the bugger always seems to be...he's seen many things over the course of his life; the rise and fall of Empires; the rise and fall of those who ruled them; epic battles that may or may not have involved him; the human mother, who had birthed him, and the father, who had raised him for as long as thier pitiful lifespans would allow, die of old age; the Human girl he fell in love with do the same. He carries a heart so heavy in his chest, it seems made of stone, and has done so since he grew his wings and gained his powers and longevity, for he saw what it had and would cost him. He could never be at home among those not of his kind.
