"Halcyon" by Leni Leni

So, this doesn't quite feel finished but I didn't know what else to do to it.
This is an interpretation of the ancient Greek myth, of Alcyone, the seventh sister.
Alcyone is the daughter of Aeolus, the Greek god of the wind. She loved her husband Ceyx, with him, she ruled Trachis and brought both peace and prosperity to the town.
In their private moments she would jokingly call him Zeus and he would call her Hera, queen of his heart.
However, their blaspemy reached the peak of mount Olympus and angered the gods.
When Ceyx, was at sea, Zeus struck down his ship with a thunderbolt and slayed him.
Alcyone waited many months for his return. Burdened with worry, she prayed every hour to the gods for the safe return of her husband. The god Morpheus sends an apparition of Ceyx to tell her of his fate.
Filled with grief, she runs to the shore and throws herself into the waves so that she may join him.

Yet, volatile and fickle, Hera observes this sacrifice and takes pity of the couple, whose love was stronger than death. She sends her husband Zeus, who transforms them both into Halcyon birds (kingfishers).

Alcyone wanders the cold and icy ocean alone, contemplating her fate. Neither fully or bird, she clings fabric to herself to cover her nakedness and her wings are made of wood. Knowing there is no place in the world for one such as her, she waits for the shortest day of the year, when she can meet Ceyx again.
During this time, Aeolus calms the winds and the sea, which is why sailors refer to the calm of mid-winter as 'Halcyon days.'

This is a lesson on the strange nature of the Greek Gods.
