Nice illustration. You really did a nice job of capturing that comic book cover feel. Being a mock book cover the only thing I would suggest is to leave more space for a title at the top (as thats were they go for most books).

Of course that is just a nit-picky thing. It really is a good solid bit of sci-fi art.

Alex Hakobian AKA Avaz replies: "Thanks a lot! I had a lot of training to get all the proportions and perspective just right. I also had to take it to a good buddy of mine to see if he thought there was anything I could do to improve it. And this is the end result. I don't think it would have come out as good as this without his help and advice. Of course, the school classes helped too "

I think this is my favorite of your art so far. You did a great job, lots of detail, and the proportions seem to be fine (I have a sort of pet peeve-ish thing going on today, so your lucky ^_~"). One question: Is this going to be the cover for something, or a poster? ^^" keep up the good work!!

Alex Hakobian AKA Avaz replies: "Thanks for the kind words. And no, this isn't going to be used for anything. I just wanted to see what it would look like if I made a book cover. I don't even write science fiction, so I don't know what made me try to do this, but I'm glad I did because it came out splendid. "

This is a very dynamic scene with a well-done, 3D looking background. I also like her lips a lot - but I'm wondering if the whole wouldn't look better if you used such a clear contour on her face and hair as you did with the rest... I'm not sure, though...

Alex Hakobian AKA Avaz replies: "I absolutely agree with you. The whole image would have looked better if I went in and made the contours as clear for everything as I did for the face. Alas, I had time constraints with this piece, and so I couldn't afford to take the extra time to make it, so I had to settle for one notch below... which, I think, still looks pretty darn good! Or perhaps if I took out all the sharpness in her face to make it match the background, it would even things out some as well? ^_~;"

For some reason this really reminds me of the playstation games my brother makes me play with him. Or Xbox. Or whatever hes got ><. It's got that... real look about it, I can imagine running around helplessly on the top floor yelling something about the joystick not working.
I particuarly like the machine wotsit that's holding the crystal, again it looks believeable and I like the nails!
My only criticism would be to get rid of the title. I know it's supposed to be a book cover but I really want to see what it looks like as a stand alone piece of art, it doesn't really seem to fit with the dynamics of the rest of the picture.
Anyways, well done! I like!

Alex Hakobian AKA Avaz replies: "  I'm uhh.. not really sure which nails you're talking about, because the girl there has gloves on, and the only thing with any nails to speak of, is that monster thingie back there in the cage. Thanks for the kind words and the CC, but you can imagine how it looks without the title anyway; The title is in a place where even if it were removed, it would make very little impact to the rest of the piece. Oh, and *lol* about the gaming fiasco thereun described! "

Sorry to say but you need a lot of work on all your drawings. You need a lot of anatomy classes and better choice of color schemes. I suggest going to art school.

I like this picture a lot, you captured the scene wonderfully. Looks as if it came straight out of a movie (or book ^_~) scene! And to anonymous above, i actually think the proportions are fine, and i like the color scheme. So kudos to you alex ^_~

Alex Hakobian AKA Avaz replies: "Thank you very much, I think I have improved a lot compared to the other pictures, and this is proof. I don't like doing characters that much, but if I take my time, it comes out pretty decent. ^_^;"

Cool! This is well done and I think it'd do well as a mock comic cover. The only thing that really sticks out at me that I don't like is that her gun is just really plain and faky, almost like a kid's toy gun.

Stealing the glowing crystal is so easy, she did not need her gun. Teach those aliens not to have good security.
