  | My second go at a Pheonix (also done with paper instead of pencil). this time I wanted a contrast between the fire (background) and the bird. So I made it blue - which is actually one of the colours really warm fire has. I tinted the feathers a bit with purple and pink and added yellow/orange/red at the top of the wings. I did not want a whole blue bird, just not something ordinary and single-toned. I like this, if not in the same way as I do the first. The name "Risen from the Ashes" is just what I thought this would show. This is when the new bird's just been rebourn. And the dark at the bottom of the page is ashes. |
