For the watercolors, I would say just experiment: paint on dry paper, on wet paper, mix different strenghts of pigment, see how many times you can layer before the paper starts to pill up. ^_^ I've found that you can get a neat effect by painting an area wetly with one color and then touching a pigment-heavy brush of another color on one of the edges. Watercolors are tricky, because I'm never quite sure what they're going to do -- but for that reason, they're lots of fun! Just be really careful when painting adjacent areas that one is dry before the other is done so they don't run into each other -- this causes me lots of problems when I get impatient. | |
