So here we have Curufin, one of the sons of Feanor. Called the Crafty because he was, well, crafty. He inherited his father's skills in creating things. His son was Celebrimbor who, after they became estranged, went on to create the 'three rings for the elven kings'. 'As he (Eol--see my Aredhel pic) entered the Himlad he mastered his wrath and went warily, remembering his danger, for Celegorm and Curufin were mightly lords who loved Eol not at all, and Curufin moreover was of perilous mood; ... Curufin percieving that strange deeds were afoot came south from the Pass and encamped near the Fords. And before Eol had ridden far across the Himlad he was waylaid by the riders of Curufin and taken to their lord. Then Curufin said to Eol 'What errand have you, Dark Elf, in my lands? An urgent matter, perhaps, that keeps one so sun-shy abroad by day.' And Eol knowing his peril restrained the bitter words that arose in his mind. 'I have learned, Lord Curufin,' he said, 'that my son and my wife, the White Lady of Gondolin, have ridden to visit you while I was from home; and it seemed to me fitting that I should join them on this errand.' Then Curufin laughed at Eol and he said: 'They might have found their welcome here less warm than they hoped, had you accompanied them; but it is no matter, for that was not their errand... It seems that you would deceive me; unless indeed you yourself have been deceived.' And Eol answered: 'Then, lord, perhaps you will give me leave to go, and discover the truth of this matter.' 'You have my leave, but not my love,' said Curufin. 'The sooner you depart from my land the better will it please me.' Then Eol mounted his horse saying: 'It is good, Lord Curufin, to find a kinsman thus kindly at need. I will remember it when I return.' Then Curufin looked darkly upon Eol. 'Do not flaunt the title of your wife before me,' he said. 'For those who steal the daughters of the Noldor and wed them without gift or leave do not gain kinship with their kin. I have given you leave to go. Take it, and be gone...' Then Eol rode off in haste, and he was filled with hate for all the Noldor. Snippetry from The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Mmm, hottie elf. I love the sneer he's sporting. 2

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Mm, I couldn't agree more... ::leers at him::"

"Don't forget about Curufin who has nasty character" (c) 2 He does look up to that quote. Though I like Maedhros, Maglor and Caranthir the best 2

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Don't know where the quote came from but it made me laugh. I like Caranthir because he's the most volatile, and of course everyone loves Maedhros... I don't know about bards, but Maglor is okay cause he lasted the longest. Way to go man."

This is the first time I've seen individual portraits of Feanor's sons. The face and expression are great, but the rest of the body is less realistic (and not quite proportional). Eh. Who am I to preach about proportions? Great work.

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Well the clothes were meant to be simple, since he's often faring around in the woods. As to proportion, he's just a tall and slim elf, so I don't think it's too far off..."

That's a really nice representation of one of my favourite Feanorings. Great job on his expression and on his hands. Hands are my weak spot... `sighs` Keep it up!

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "The hands were a pure miracle. No idea what was going on there. I'm usually not especially brilliant with hands myself."

Oh my gosh!! He is a mega hottie! *g* Look at those lips!! Yummo. He is the whole package, attitude, physical features, sexxxxxiness...blah, love it!

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Don't you be getting any ideas about Curufin. ::Look::"

I don't know why I've put off commenting about this pic. Probably because Curufin is my favorite son of Feanor, and I've thought it a bit warped to like the son almost as well as the father. (Almost, not quite.) Well, anyway, he looks great, very similar to how I imagined him, at that. He looks like he is capable of almost anything -- which he is!

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Thanks, Erin! I think Curufin is probably the most best-loved (most best-loved??) of Fëanor's sons. Maybe Maedhros would be the next closest. I like that he looks capable too. Just his hands. Don't know how I did them, but they definitely look "crafty"."

This is amazing. I've never really seen a lot of pictures of the Sons of Feanor and Feanor himself, and even less of them individually, but this picture of Curufin is absolutely great. His facial expression and pose fit his character perfectly and is what you would expect of a son of Feanor. Really proud and unpredictable. Curufin is one of my fav. Silmarillion characters right after Maedhros and Feanor himself.
You truly are a magnificent artist and I would love to see more of your Silmarillion illustrations in the future. There just aren't enough of them out there 19)

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "::hugs:: That's the nicest comment. I love the same things you do about this picture. And no, there just aren't enough Sil pics out there, darnit. I've managed to add just one more to my repertoire, but I'm certainly going to carry forth with more, thoguh they'll probably be slow coming."

Grrr. Evil father-in-law. He's almost as bad as Galadriel.

No, no, nobody could be as bad as Galadriel. *hiss*

Good picture though 1

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Surely you aren't maligning Curufin's character!!"

I like it. However. *shakes fists* Stupid jerk sons of Feanor. Losing two of the Silmarils. grrrrrrrrr

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Heh, well you didn't think *you'd* get them did you. 12"
