(Updated: 3/28/03) 'Feanor grew swiftly, as if a secret fire were kindled within him. He was tall, and fair of face, and masterful, his eyes piercingly bright and his hair raven-dark; in the pursuit of all his purposes eager and steadfast. Few ever changed his courses by counsel, none by force. He became of all the Noldor, then or after, the must subtle in mind and the most skilled in hand.' Snippetry from The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien.

wow, Feanor looks really good, he's my favourit character! I also drew him, but I imagined him with shorter hair.. anyway, your drawing is great!

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Yeah, everyone seems to think that he should have shorter hair, but I think since hair was such a turn-on for them, that they would have longer hair. Anyhow, thanks!"

Le suilannon elvellon!

This is a beautiful portrayal of Feanor! He has such intense eyes. I am actually working on an illustration of Feanor, although mine looks nothing like yours (our styles our too different), but I do like yours none the less... particularly his gaze. 2

Navaer~

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Mm, thanks. That fiery piercing gaze is all important, donchaknow. Lemme know how yours comes along, kay?"

Oo! It's lovely and exactly as I pictured Feanor!
... However, I can't help imagining his head falling off. But that's probably just my weird mind and not even remotely your fault.

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "It's probably Gothmog's fault..."

I always have trouble drawing guys with long hair. I just make them look like really ugly girls. But you've pulled it off in a lot of pictures, and beautifully and effortlessly--not that drawing it was effortless (it's obvious a lot of hard work went into this and all the others) but that it's effortlessly believable, if that makes sense at all (it probably doesn't. Oh, well. I shall go wallow in my nonsensicality and leave you to be extremely talented. Sigh).

11 Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Hey, I tend to always draw really pretty guys, so it's much the same thing. And a good job that I draw elves, so it works. I used to have the same problem with drawing men, though, so it's not anything to worry about. Most artists go through the phase I think. I don't have any advice to offer, unforunately. ::useless and unhelpful::"

What's really intriguing are those two little teeth, definitely a smirk here. I'm probably on something right now, but Feanor looks ...appalled. However, the picture itself is fantastic, especially the shading. 1

13 Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Thanks very much! I think he's just intense..."

Oooh, I love this. It actually looks the way I pictured Fëanor... slightly detached and arrogant. Just beautiful!

18 Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Yeah, he's def distracted and arrogant. Thank you!"

Greetings!
First of all: Feanor is my favorite char ever, so maybe my comment will be a little bit too subjective...never mind!
I had a picture of Feanor, the elvenlord, greatest of all Noldor, in my mind - and this is almost exactly as I had him in my mind.
The length of his face suits well - and what abou the hair??
Its perfect! I couldn´t imagine him or whatother elve with short hair, this is as it should be.
The eyes are wonderful, too, but I think they could be a little "longer"? Don´t know...what really fascinates me is the gaze!! I cannot resist to feel the urge I have to bow my head...
It is like I´m standing right before him..Wow!
Further, I love the mouth! I know for the difficulty drawing male lips! (want him get me kissed..12
Let people think whatever they want: You´ve done greatly.
Thanks!
Yes, Feanor is arrogant and selfish! But the more he is, the more he is unique, adorable and attractive...

11 Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "I really appreciate your comment! You're right, male lips are really difficult to draw... trying to make them not look like they're wearing lipstick! Thanks, again..."

I can find no flaw in the face or the hair! Beautiful and fierce. The shading is wonderous and his eyes are haunting. Love it!

But I must say something about his neck. It is either to small or to slim or something and it makes his head look much too large for what we can see of his shoulders. It creates the effect that he is straining against something. If that's the look you were going for, than I appologize profusely!

3 Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Thanks! You're probably right about the neck. I always had a problem getting the right size, and often the shoulders were too small. I paid less attention to those things than I should have."

Cool! Just how he looked in Valinor.(Of course, I would know, after all I AM a Vala. He never seemed to like me very much...

12 Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Hehe..."
