Obviously you haven't read the book...her hair was straight...he said it often...how she always had her straight long brown hair back in a leather barrette that he liked so well...also, she could "actually pass for white"...the lady in your picture obviously could not....I like the eyes and the pic is good...but this is not the Merrick described in the book....

Did you even read the book? i mean, its a nice picture and all, but it goes on about how she could have passed as a white mayfair, and she had straight hair which wasnt that dark, and stuff. maybe you should read it Melissa F. I know how Anne Described her but this is just for some reason how I pictured her."

I like your picture of Merrick that is the way I pictured her too, and I read the book, true it did say she could pass for white, but it also said she was Creole, I have a friend who is creole who could pass for white or mixed black, it just all depends on how light the person is. It's happenend to me a few times. It's like you can't help but keep your own image of h/im/er. So we'll leave this on "artistic liscence". Melissa F. Hawkins replies: "Hehehe.
