| 11 Mar 2003 | Jenny Dolfen | Loading...Lol... gills You're right, name-sake Jen, it's the ribs and muscles under the arms. If you want a really good book tip on anatomy, check out Andrew Loomis's "Figure Drawing or all it's worth". I'm working with that too. I don't think he's too thin--he's an elf, after all! Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Notre: Maybe I should have shaded them a little less. " | |
| 20 Jul 2003 | Tsune D. Orozco Toda | Loading...great anatomy.... nice bio pic. Elmore is serious stuff!!!... never got enough money on the right time to get my hands on one original elmore though!!!... keep drawing!! Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: *bows* thanks! I got the picture as a "tag along" for a book. When he had put out his book, he was offering to put a sketch inside it for $20 more, but I wasn't able to get that offer due to Larry being swamped. So later I asked if he could give me a sketch inside one of his sketch books, and to my surprise ( well, not after I saw the book) he'd sent it on a seperate (sp?) piece of paper, There wasn't any room in the sketch book for it! | 10 Oct 2003 | Paul L. Carter | Loading...Very nice. I really like the nice clean linework. Actually he looks a lot like my nearly naked wardancer minus a sword of course. Have a look on my loth page and see for yourself. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Thanks! And he does look a bit like yours, I recognized the sword as being a klingon sword. " | |
| 7 Dec 2003 | Sofia Carvalho | Loading...Oh God, Anatomy!... Sorry, it's just that I'm a Medicine student, and Anatomy is absolutely everyone's biggest nightmare!! The muscles in that area don't look exactly like that, but it's close. And it is, after all, an elf, which means that the body can be different from a human one (notice the ears - I've yet to see a human with pointy ears). Anyway, just giving my two cents on the other comments. In my opinion it's very well shaded and the composition is wonderful. Characters in movement are very hard to draw. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Hello again Sofia! I started coloring "The Piper", but am not quite satisfied with it yet ( I also tried to switch her hands around, but that just wrecked the whole flowof the picture, it may be wrong but it looks the best that way!)... Anatomy is the nigtmare of an artist as well, until one gets it memorized. Are you talking about the "gill" area? I still have a bit of trouble with those muscles right there, I think my most recent work with a bare chested male is Caramon. I keep looking at how men are built when they are really muscular by their waists, so different from women! Thanks for dropping by again, I'll see what I can do about getting "The Piper" finished! | 7 Mar 2004 | J. 'Kementári' Cruikshank | Loading...Oh wow...how did you do this? It's amazing that you got all his proportions right, while putting him in such an interesting pose. Wow, wow, wow. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: *bows* Thank you! How did I do it? Just kept drawing and erasing until it looked right. " | |
| 18 Mar 2004 | Nichole | Loading...Artist of the day, eh? ^5! I love his right leg. Actually, his right thigh in particular. *purr* Awesome work. ;D Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Glad you enjoy that right thigh! Now one of my silly thoughts: Kind of sounds like you are a dragon, "Mmmm, tasty right thigh!" *LOL* Thanks for dropping by!" | |
| 19 Mar 2004 | Félix-Samuel | Loading...hum, I would say about 97% naked ...What a great dancer it is, I do feel the music in my ear, I would dance with him, wow, that's a great song and how does he move in a such elegant way, he floats on the air, it isn't pure air anymore, he's a part of it, and it's a part of him. He does share his body with every note that fill the place, I can feel the music by him, he gives me that Celtic melody...amazing work, such hair^^ I have long hair...but I can't figure how I could have such COOL hair Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: That is the reason for the "+" on the end. I have a hard time dealing with my long hair as well, I guess it's an elvish thing where their hair does exactly what they want it to. Thank you for such a cool comment, I love how you wrote it with your observations, and it's exactly what I was trying to capture through this picture; how certain music seems to fill me up and become a part of me. | 11 Jan 2005 | Eilianth | Loading...I like the pic his movement looks awesom. You didn't happen to read elfquest by Richard and Wendy Pini? This guy totally reminds me of one of their charakters. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: You got the influence spot on! I did this in the middle of my Elfquest craze, I still think it is one of the best comics/stories I have ever read, I haven't been able to keep up with the story though, the libraries don't stock all the little stories coming after the big one." | |
| 17 Jun 2005 | Nanna Naumann | Loading...Yeah, I thought "elfquest" when I first saw this.. But somehow it differs as well, I think mostly the pose - I can't really see an almost naked beautiful young man flaunting his body like this as very elfquest, but then I haven't read all that many albums.. Anyhoo, he's gorgous. His hair, his body - so.... nice. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: I think this might be one of those more or less impossible poses anyways. < I can't recall if they ever got this dancerly either... He was intended to be eyecandy so it seems I have reached my goal. " | |
