What can I say...Elves dancing.
Scottish Humor:The following item came from a Web site about Airdrie: Wee Harry, a tiny wee man, used to push an enormous barrow around the streets of Airdrie and was credited with many humorous quips. As Harry struggled to climb South Bridge Street with his barrow, a well intentioned onlooker said 'where there's a will, there's a way', to which Harry replied 'Aye, and where there's a hill, there's a brae'. (Some readers may not know that in Scotland a 'brae' is a hill...)

Ah, 'tis the season for the Beltain dancers to awaken and weave the poll anew.

Amazing work

:-) Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Yep, and I wonder how many of them get tangled up and wrapped to the pole...now that would be a funny picture..."

This is beautiful! It reminds me a little of the Festival of Flood and Flower in Elfquest, and I think the celebrations are supposed to be similar- nevermind, I'm rambling. But it captures feelings of celebrating, definitely.

12 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Yeah, this does have touches of ElfQuest, I was entranced with Elfquest at the time of drawing! Thanks for leaving a comment!"

This is very beautiful, i love the movements they are making and just the appearance of the elves alone is amazing, it's how i've always imagined them, it's great!

1 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Thank you! It's almost time again for that dance! 2"

Nice! I love the shading, and how amazingly accurate the anatomy is. Also, I have to give you credit for creative use of ribbons/hair/flowers/etc.. You managed to "censor" the pic while still making it look perfectly natural, and that seems like it would be very hard to do.

7 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Thanks! I am pretty proud of my censoring abilities! I had to censor it because I didn't know what certain body parts looked like and my mom would have been upset. 2 "

Lovely picture but bad bad bad memories lol
my mum made me go 2 a club like that wen i was little and left me there the next thing i no they ave sat me in the middle against the pole and started dancing around me chanting!
Bad bad bad memories!

22 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: A club like what now? Where people danced around in the nude? That would be freaky for a little kid, I hope they didn't do anything besides dance and chant! <19"

lovely, this is. They kinda look like ElfQuest-characters, with the hi cheek bones and all... What's that guy's phone number again?? ^.^

2 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: For which one? 2 And yes, this was during my Elfquest craze. 2 Thanks for the comment!"

It has a fun-loving, happy quality about it. Makes me smile. I would love to see this in color.

7 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note(catching up on comments!): Glad to make you smile! Hmmm...color...hopefully one day...2 Thank you for dropping by!"

LOVE the drawing, i wish there were dances like that
marry part

1 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: It is a real dance, actually I think they walk it more than dance it... I wonder how many people would run into each other if they tried to dance while weaving the Maypole. 2 Thanks for popping in!"

wow! I just LOVE this picture!!! if u r interested in books that include Beltane, the goddess, and ancient,Celtic, religions, then i recommend the "Avalon" series, by Marion Zimmer Bradley. I’ve read the whole series twice. (this is the order it goes in) The Fall of Atlantis, Ancestors of Avalon, The Forest House, The Lady of Avalon, The Priestess of Avalon, & The Mists of Avalon. it is such a GREAT series!!! I think u would love it.!!!

morgaine

18 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "I finally read those books last year, 2012! 1 Jenny’s Note: Hi there, Glad you like the picture so much. 2 I have been thinking about reading those books for some years now, I didn’t know they went in a certain order! I guess the next time I go to the library I’ll have to check them out. 2 "
