The reason you get people complaining about the hood is because it's so huge. I mean he's either got some gnarly mound of hair going on in there, or he's wearing a helmet underneath it. Was that the intended effect? It's still a great picture either way. Kudos to you, Raistlin isn't easy to draw. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Hello again Seeker! You got the hood problem right, I noticed it *after* I colored it, go figure! *looks at picture* it looke better on my other moniter as well. I like the idea of a lot of hair, I have always admired Larry Elmore's depiction of him with that flowing hair. < "

I also wanted to comment on your drawing and paintings skills in general. What really sticks out to me is your hands...need more work on the hands, if you don't mind me saying so. But keep it up. Perportion is the main thing with you. Your skills have developed quite well in other aspects. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Yeah, hands are one of my weak spots, I have thought of practicing them more, but I never can manage to make myself do it ( Lazy!).I do seem to have cycles with proportions, like the legs end up too big or something for a year or so before I notice, and then it's the torso too short. Thanks for being honest. "

It captures the more elegant side of his darkness rather than the more frequentaly seen Raistlin in a constant state of rage. Raistlin the quentessintial man caught between the war of his soul and his pride. Bravo. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Thank you! I like the way you put that, elegant evil. "

But try this: hold up your sketch to a mirror, and your brain will see it as something other than your work, allowing you to see any obvious mistakes you've made Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Watercolor pencils actually, Pastels rather dislike me. The last time I used some I used a brush so I wouldn't have to touch them Sometimes I turn the paper around and hold it up to the light, a bit harder to do with the drawing in a sketch book. I should just fix this one in photoshop (ah, computers, awesome for fixing that one little mistake). Thanks for popping in!"
| 5 Aug 2006 | Raistlin's future wife! | Loading...I like this one a lot more than the other one! (Not that I didn't like the other one! ) I think Raistlin is the best! Does it say in the books that he has gray hair? I always picture him with black hair! lol...that's just me, though! Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: What?! *I* was gonna be his wife!! Er, wait, I am married already...;D He actually had brown hair before his test. I always thought of it more as a silver rather than a grey, but my coloring skills aren't that finely tuned (my silver always looks grey). Thanks for popping in. " | |

Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: I gues the othe one would suit palin better, what with the milder look. And yes, he has lots of brains....kind of sounds zombie like when I say that!
