SciFi and Fantasy Art Desert Elf by Jenny M. Heidewald

I finished this one a while ago. She was like one of those extreme makeover ladies, her nose was really big and her mouth small. I finally got tired of seeing her that way while flipping through my sketch book, and wah-lah. I love doing makeovers. :) 005 Micron pen.
Scottish Joke: Just as the epic film was reaching its climax in a Glasgow cinema, old Sandy started to grub around on the floor, under the seats around him. 'Whit are ye daein, mister?' asked an irritated lady in a loud whisper. 'Trying to find my toffee' replied old Sandy. 'It fell oot o' ma mooth.' The lady was unimpressed and snapped back 'Can ye no leave it till the end o' the pictur? You're ruining the ending.' Old Sandy shook his head and replied 'No! It's goat ma false teeth stuck in it!'

11 May 2004	Sofia Carvalho	Loading... Amazing. Really. Her face is just so artistic and gorgeous, and I like how simple her hair is compared to it. The transparency is a nice touch. I love her eyes and nose... In fact, I love everything about her! You make excellent character desings. Do you usually have a story for them or do they just happen when you draw? Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note:bows deeply Thank you Sofia! When I was younger I drew the story/characters as it happened (the page got pretty messy!). I don't go into the story part as much nowdays, I just like drawing people. Maybe I should find some to submit to Ellen Million's Character Portrait adoption thing. I don't think I had a story for this one when I drew her, I think of her as having more of an Arab type feel, or desert feel. I started coloring this one as well (the story of my life), and made her skin blue, I don't know how well that goes with the desert theory! Talk with ya later! "

I've always loved looking at illustrations in books, like the ones at the beginning of chapters in certain fantasy books, I wish that they did that more often. "

Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Hello Amber, you're so sweet! My advice is to get a book by Lee Hammond, she helped me with my shading ("How to Draw Real People" it's probably on Amazon.com). My second would be get a "click" pencil, that way you'll never have to sharpen a pencil again. My third is: Practice, practice, practice. I need to go do that too!
