You're an amazing artist! I've been looking for pictures/drawings of Goldmoon from DragonLance. She is not a popular one to draw:/ Do you think that you may be POSSIBLY drawing her anytime soon? hehe *hint* -Kel --- *
So I thought about it for a few days and decided to finally draw her, and in keeping with the theme in this gallery I did her in greyscale. The first all out greyscale I've done since 'A Long Time'.
I did this, start to finish 3 1/2 hours, with two false starts. I was up to 3:00 AM finishing her because I didn't want to stop (my hand sure was glad to have it done)!10/6/03: Added a sketch of Goldmoon, done after my first one...She looks more like what I wanted to get with my first one (except her eyes are making my eyes go funny when I look at them, I think one is tipped more than the other, urgh), it's in the facial shape, she looks good with a squarer jawline, like the American Indians. Also the outfit was done reffering to the one that Larry Elmore gave her, so if you think it should be different go tell him!!! :p
Scottish Joke: 'Sandy suggested a candlelit dinner last night' Jessie reported to her friend the next day. 'That was dead romantic' said her friend. 'Not really. It just saved him having to fix the fuse.'

Good drawing; I'd love to see it fleshed out in color. Seeing the drawing bought back the memories of role-playing Goldmoon in one of my first role-playing games. I didn't read any of the novels until I had played her for over a year, and by then I'd given her a personality somewhat different then the ones given in either the game module or the novels. Did you ever see the cover of Dragon Magazine #140. The artist is Larry Elmore (artist for a good portion of Dragonlance products12 and though it's not mentioned in the mag, the cleric pictured appears to be Goldmoon. Even went and got a second copy of that issue and framed one of the covers.

Thank you for posting the drawing.

7 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note:*searches for the cover* Ah, yes, that one. Maybe one day oil paint will let me use it so well! 2 Larry Elmore is my favorite artist, it was his art on the covers on the first DL books that got me practicing a lot more at drawing, and collecting a lot of DL books.2 It must have been strange to read about how the character is after you gave her a different personality. "She wouldn't do that!" 1 Thank you for the awesome comment, I'm glad I could supply a bit of nostalgia. 2"

This is the best version of Goldmoon I've seen. Her strength as a princess is really brought through and it's the first version I've seen where she is fully dressed. 1

1 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Aww, thank you! The DL artits did tend to make her run around less dressed, or in skin-tight pants, which I seem to draw a lot as well. Clothes are nice. 2 "

I like so many others am glad to see a good picture of Goldmoon! I have seen other pictures here but, this is the first one to move me to write. I am particularly Glad to see her dressed in this outfit and not skimply little clothes. Please keep up the good work. I am not an artist but, I am a great appreciator. Thank you for brightened an semi-invalid's day.

62 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: I've done searches myself for the characters here. I think I only found one other of Riverwind, and I don't recall the Goldmoon ones. I was inspired by Larry Elmore's take on her clothes, and added some touches of my own. I personally like the corset belt. 2 Thank you for taking the time to comment, I might not answer right away but I do read and appreciate them when I get them. 2 "

I've been reading Dragonlance books for awhile now 1 i'm around the war of souls trilogy Goldmoon looks awesome! very nice work

32 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: *bows* thank you. I've been reading DL stuff on and off, it's tough when the library only has two or so of a trilogy, I always wait until I can read it all at once. I am impatient thatway. 2"

If I could draw like that I'd...I'd... well I wouldnt be working for 5 quid an hour, thats for sure

42 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Awww! It would be nice if everyone would love whatever I drew and I could make lots of quids doing whatever I wanted to draw, but unfortunately life isn't like that (except for Amy Brown 14 ). "

I think the sketch looks just fine. I think that the bit of crookedness to her eyes gives her a bit of a more human appearance... ya know, not quite perfect but absolutely beautiful

25 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Why, thank you. 2 It is true about the face stuff, real people aren't perfect! When I look at photos of myself really grinning, I always want to go and fiddle "The jaw is all whacked out!" Thanks for stopping in. 2"
