I had meant to put this up in November, but I kept forgetting about it! This is still what it looks like, I need to finish her other wristlet, and make it sp that she is actually on something and not floating in the air! <:) Pose help from: 'Dynamic Figure Drawing' by Burne Hogarth ( when I saw it I knew it was the perfect pose for Kit!) And face help from Larry Elmore's books...:) 10/6/03 The little sketch in the upper left corner is for and inspired by all the people who don't think she is 'powerful' looking enough! Powerful enough for you NOW?! <:D

Interesting depiction -- definately based on the Elmore drawing I see. I like the pose, but the colors seem a bit muddy.

:-) Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Yay for Elmore! 2 The skin is indeed muddy, I didn't have a lot of colors to work with at that time, unfortunately, and I still have trouble with skin tones. <8 But I think the clothes came out well, I like the blue. 2 Thank you for the frank observation. 2"

erm...(you missed out and I in her name! ^_^ lol)Kit did do some serious bed hopping in the books (come on!!! even a dead guy!), but yeah we all know her heart belongs to our beloved Tanis lol. I like the pose but I'm not sure about the trousers although the boots and top are cool! And I thought the hair would be darker and yeah...well I'm not sure what I expected her to look like but...Hmmm...that crooked grin.... It's still a great picture though and yeah it does look like her. Sorta' well done though and give us more dl piccys!! please...? Pretty please????

14 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: I know, it's been bothering me, but I haven't gotten around to fixing that yet. It took me awhile to figure out what you were saying, because of "and I", which should have been 'an "i" '. 12 I don't think her heart belonged to anyone but Greed Power, but you may think what you will (we all do anyways <2 ). I am working on another version of this, which will have a background, if kind of strange, but I don't like her clothes as much in it. I like her face and skin better though, I just can't seem to win (unless I use the computer and paste the clothes on theis version onto that version <2 ). Anyhoo, thanks for the comment, and you already know I have more DL pictures (I have all the main characters) if you have checked the rest of my gallery. 2 "

Very nice work.. She looks almost like I picture her when i read the books.. She could use something to lean on though..
About the sketch when she is holding the horse- It could come out of the "Darkness and Light",if you read it (although there are no horses on lunitari)
Keep it up!

18 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note16he has some rocks to lean on in the next version I was working on earlier this year. I have read the book, but it was awhile ago and I am trying to remember what all happened! <2 Thanks for the comment!"

LOL I like your sense of humour. I almost bought that hogarth book, but thought he makes people with strange heads and hands. Is it helpful to learn to draw by memory?

18 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: They are a bit different from the norm, he is going by his comic book drawing experience. It actually reminds me of the way the old masters did things, the way he draws in his books. If for nothing else it is good for seeing how the muscles would look and some interesting poses. As for trying to learn to draw from memory, it's not recommended because your brain thinks things look different than what they do look like. Of course that never stopped me from drawing without a model or photo reference! If you don't like the Hogarth books, look for "Drawing the Head and figure" by Jack Hamm. It has tons of info, and the people look like people, but they are mostly women (which I found a little irritating when I wanted to draw a guy and needed some reference for muscles). Thank you for your comment, I am still working through this huge batch of comments I got in one day, so expect more replies in the future! 2"

That picture in the upper corner is so hilarious! Like someone already mentioned, it reminds me too of Pippi Longstocking, who could and would lift her horse from time to time.

In the "main picture", though, my favourite part of Kitiara is her left hand (my right) that is reclining on something not seen. The colouring and anatomy of it is perfect. The boots and feet are also good (the wrinkles, etc).

If I should point something out that could be improved, it would probably be that hip/waist area where her legs begin. It looks somehow... less flowing than the other lines in the picture. And I wouldn't probably use clothes that mix colours like that, but that's just Kitiara! ^_^

2 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: I have only read an excerpt of about a couple chapters of Pippi Longstockings, she was indeed pretty strong girl, must have been those braids. 2 I can't quite see what you mean about the hip area, might it be because of he bleats and the way the shirt bulges out between her corslet and pants? I am glad you like the hand if not my choice of colors fir her clothes ( I guess I could have gone for red instead of blue and brown?). Thanks for the lovely comment!"

Not exactly what i expected her to look like. Oh well.

2 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: She looks better in the second version I have yet to finish...Oh well."

OMG! You have Kit, too! I knew you had a lot of Dragonlance characters, but you have Kit! The Slut of the North! Yay!!
I luffed Goldmoon-she was courageous and pure...and Laurana changed herself and became sacrificing and such. Tika is just kick-butt.
But Kit was the best. ^_^ I'm not saying I wanna be like her when I'm all grown up and dominating the world, but...always nice to have a role-model. Hehehe. Yay for Kit! Yay for you drawing Kit! Have a muffin as a sign of my gratitude. *muffin!*

1 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: *MMMM! A muffin!* Thank you! I pretty much have everyone from DL, the main folks anyways, I occasionally get the Obsessed DL Fan who goes through them all and leaves comments like: " OMG you made her look like a Slut! She wasn't a Slut!". Makes me wonder if they *really* read the books...<2 If you dominated the world I think you would give everyone muffins, and we would love you. What's not to love about a Muffin Queen? 2 "

Not how i imagined her in the books but... Still! Its very good!

62 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Thank you. 2 It's tough to capture any character for everyone. I know that there are certain books where the picture I had in my mind of the charactter wasn't at all what I saw depicted."

13 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note:*heehee* That was a fun one to draw. I wonder if I'll ever finish the other picture though!"
