| 1 Nov 2003 | Nancy 'Crystalyn' Farmer | Loading...I can see what that leg gave you problems, but I think you got it nicely. Perspectives can be such a pain, can't they? I like that Riverwind looks so young here. Great pic! Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: And I was using reference as well for that leg! I didn't intend for him to look so young, but I am glad you like it! " | |
| 9 Feb 2004 | Lilangel | Loading...Whoa.. Hes a hottie ^^ Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Finally! Someone focused on the important stuff! Not the "He does't really look like Riverwind blahblahblah", but the "Oooh he's cute!" stuff! *laughs* (*Jenny needs to go to bed before she falls on her face asleep!*)" | |
| 21 Feb 2004 | Maria M. McGrath | Loading...Oh, I just love celtic boys. His expression makes you wonder what he's thinking. Good job on the legs, their amazing. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Thank you, I worked hard on them! " | |
| 1 Mar 2004 | Betsy Tzu-hua Yeh | Loading...Ha! the first Riverwind piccy I had seen around the woods ^_^ you drew him a bit more handsome than I pictured him... lol. His not one of my favorites but still a good one! I miss the good times of reading the chronicles... and am certainly consider re-reading them! Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note:There are a couple more Riverwinds...Well, one that I have found, the artist made him look more like the accepted version on the covers of the books. Thank you for the comment! " | |
| 23 Jun 2004 | Dragonlance Fan | Loading...This is nothiing like what i expected Riverwind to look like. He is way too young, he isn't tall enough, his hair is to long and he is too muscular. But other than that, good work, lol. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: So if it wasn't him then you would like it? But I don't think you looked at any of my other picures so what would be the point? < ...I should label all of these DL pictures: "Intended to be my version not yours". < And, for the 50th time it seems, he didn't really turn out the way I wanted him to. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Re Flare: It's funny how seriously some folks get their panties in a twist over certain things. I think it would be funny to draw someone who looks only a teensy bit ( or not at all) like a popular character and the claim it is that character. < I'm glad you like the picture though! " | |
| 22 Jan 2005 | Ashley | Loading...Oh, boo. Your depiction of Riverwind is absolutely fine, and I'll tell you why. First of all, what ever happened to artistic liscense? Secondly, I always thought that Riverwind had a kind of youthful quality to him. He is a tall, physically strong man with a stern countenance, surely; but, in the beginning he had a very childlike need to be accepted and loved by Goldmoon, who kind of imposed herself over him as "Chieftain's Daughter" like a disapproving mother or adult would. He too needed to grow and prove himself in very much the same way that Laurana did. SO, that being sad, I think it is very appropriate that he have a boyish look to him. I absolutely adore this picture. As for his right leg, the perspective would be alright if only his foot was angled a bit more so it doesn't have such a straight on sideways position. His leg is bent forward, thus his leg goes back a bit and his foot would be angled a bit more forward. At least, that's my two cents. Lovely picture, sorry for rambling :-\ Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Don't worry about rambling , I tend to do that myself, it's nice to get a well thought out comment here and there. I agree with you about artistic liscense, some folks take things too seriously, out of all my pictures I have gotten the most flak about my depictions of DL characters. The first story I read with Riverwind in it I imagined him a rather young critter, courting Goldmoon. *takes another look at the picture* By golly, you are right about that foot, I guess if I moved the lacing on the boot it would look better, and the heel. basically what you said. it's funny how on the reference I used it was this exact way and it looked fine, I always seem to have that trouble with reference. Thanks for the help! " | |

| 12 Oct 2008 | TheSecretChronicler | Loading...THANK YOU! Almost all the other Riverwinds up here are... let’s face it, crap. This is grade-A work. Here he looks just as I pictured him. Or close enough to my friend Marcus’s Halloween costume. I was Tasslehoff that year! | |
